The ce teal park of Granada is a beautiful place to visit and safe. You will find a great selection of food vendors and your typical vigoron (which I would recommend the food stand that is near Hotel colonial for the best vigoron, I've had the vigoron from all four and this is 100% the best and won't rip you off). You will also find shoe shiners (highly recommend a shoe shine to speak with an old guy whose been a shoe shiners for over 40 years and has so much history to tell, he is located near "casa del café"). You will find horse carriages to take trips around the city and sculptures made by famous Nicaraguan artist. During the night, although it looks slightly scary, don't worry, police is always near by so don't worry about walking there at night, you will be safe. I truly...

Granada is lovely but The community officials need to do something about those children giving you "free flowers" made from coconut leaves... I cannot describe what a horrifying experience we had a week ago... They literally stalked us... STALKED US... They forced us to give them money... They followed us in the cathedral! When I gave one of them coins he LITERALLY told me what I gave him was not enough! I was shocked! Never experienced anything like that ever.I always keep change to give to kids on the street but these guys were following us so much that we got scared and had to leave. Do something about this please, get them into a shelter, provide food for them, send them to school, get them off the streets, create programs for them. But I am def not...

Beautiful and amazing old world architecture - sorry for all that is happening but not sure if it is safe to visit now - to close to Managua and Masaya and the political tension of mid 2018 (UPDATE - I was back for 5 days at the end of February 2020 - beautiful as ever - even more safe and peaceful than the last time i was there in 2017 - wife and I walked to the park at the end of almost every evening while there just to sit on the benches, listen to live music, watch other people enjoying the park or watch children with their parents still playing laughing and enjoying life with the innocence that only a child...

If your looking for a souvenir to take home your sure to find one here. Take the time to find a drink and a bite to eat from the local vendors and sit down and watch all the coming and going. Within a minute or two you will have a smiling face trying to sell you anything from hats to whistles to magnetic rocks from the Masaya Volcano as well as pottery and the kid who makes flowers and grasshoppers out of palm leaves. The food we had was good but the best was the Cacao drink. Lots to see and things to do.

The central park of Granada is a very nice place, you can appreciate the architecture of beautiful colonial city of Granada. You can visit different museum such as the impressive Museum of Art and Archeology, Mi Museo. Also, you can take a tour ride in a horse-drawn carriage. You can walk through the city and enjoy the typical food and drinks of Nicaragua such as, El tiste (drink of corn) and vigorón (typical dish originated in Granada, made with Chicharrón, yucca and salad)
