My recent visit to "Bate Bate Chocolate" in Granada, Costa Rica, was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to share my experience! From the moment we stepped into the aromatic world of chocolate, we knew we were in for a treat.
Our tour guide, Angel, was the heart and soul of the experience. His infectious energy and enthusiasm made the tour incredibly engaging. Right from the start, Angel welcomed us with a big smile and a passion for chocolate that was absolutely contagious. He immediately made everyone feel at home, setting the stage for a fun and interactive tour.
Angel took us on a fascinating journey through the world of chocolate, explaining the different products that "Bate Bate Chocolate" offers. From rich dark chocolate bars to creamy milk chocolate truffles, each product was crafted with precision and love. Angel shared intriguing insights into the history of chocolate and its cultural significance in Costa Rica, making the experience educational as well as delicious.
One of the highlights of the tour was the opportunity to grind cocoa beans ourselves. Angel demonstrated the traditional technique, and then it was our turn! It was exhilarating to be part of the chocolate-making process, and Angel's guidance made it even more enjoyable. We laughed, learned, and, of course, tasted our creations, which were divine.
The tour concluded with a tasting session that left our taste buds dancing. Angel encouraged us to savor each bite, and he was right—each piece was a little slice of heaven. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and chocolate-induced happiness, making it an experience I'll cherish.

Read moreVisited on October 14th. Definitely a tourist trap. Was brought here by our horse and buggy tour guide. They offer a free tour but there is not much shown other than how the natives use to grind down the beans. At the end we were offered an assortment of chocolate to try. Even had a delicious chocolate tea and rum infused drinks. Unfortunately it must be some bait and switch scam because I purchased 2 bottles and both were harsh and bitter. Very much tasted as if gone bad or passed expiration. Very sad to experience this so be mindful if you choose to visit here.
