You have to love this place, if it's summer and packed with folks sunbathing and chatting, late evening it's a very chilled place to relax from the day, or winter where you just watch the few boats passing by. The place has so many faces and is different as you experience such "public places" (around the museum and within an outdoor art exhibition) in other countries. Classic Scandic Style. 12 out of 12 points (or five stars :)) Sadly it's closed nowadays after 22:00 to go out to the floating deck for a late evening chill.

This is one of my favourite places in the city. The vibes here especially during summer are just amazing. With people lounging, taking a dip in the ocean, laughter in the air, seagulls soaring in the sky… this place comes alive during summer. Other than that, this spot offers one of the best view of sunsets in Oslo. I have spent numerous evenings watching magical sunset sky here. Would really recommend everyone to visit this place to watch sunset especially.

It is a lovely spot to see the sunset and enjoy swimming. The place is quiet and romantic, usually not crowded, which makes it a better spot. You can access it easily by walking or cycling. My recommendation is to bring some snacks and enjoy the view. Also is a very great spot if you want to swim, there is a trampoline and a stairs so it's easy to access.

Jeg er i utgangspunktet ingen fan av steder der det er meninga at man skal ligge/ sitte tett og bade/ sole seg, men til å være et slikt sted er Tjuvholmen badeplass storartet: Fin utsikt, både strand og stupemuligheter, lett tilgjengelig, hyggelig båttrafikk lenger ut i fjorden og så videre. Dessuten er de flinke til å rydde og holde det reint, så det virker ikke så gorsøpla som slike plasser ofte blir. Likevel: Mangel på tilgjengelige toaletter, veldig grovkorna strand (nesten som grus) og den store menneskemengden trekker ned. Dessuten hadde det vært stas med noen flytebrygger å svømme ut til eller andre maritime attraksjoner. Men altså: Storartet hvis min liker mange folk, eller til kveldsbad når det er færre mennesker. Foretrekker imidlertid andre steder for å unnagjøre mine bademessige aktiviteter på varme dager.

Bonus spot to jump into the sea surrounded by fellow water lovers. Great views of the harbour. There's even a small child friendly beach section. Free power shower on the pontoon itself. Free public access.
