The food was absolutely fine. Nothing special. My first issue is having to wait 45 min after being seated, before having to ask a waiter if we were allowed to order. Absolutely unacceptable.
One in our party informed the waiter that he was highly allergic to gluten, and asked if the gluten-free options were "safe" for him to eat. He even went so far as to ask what of the options would be safest and the least hazzle for the kitchen to make, not to be a burden. He was ensured by the waiting staff that gluten-free was no problem, and were recommended dishes. We all ordered, our drinks arrived. 10 minutes later, the waiting staff appeared again, apologetic, saying that if he is really allergic, none of the options on the menu is really safe. This puts us all in a real predicament. We have already gotten our drinks, are minutes away from getting our food. We can't just all get up and leave, but it is extremely unfair to leave one in our party sit there without anything to eat. He asked all the right questions, repeatedly. Both when we were seated, and again when ordering. It is an outrage, and unfair to put us all in such a predicament. Would not recommend this...
Read moreMy party of four recently dined at Olivia's in Tjuvholmen, Oslo, and our experience had both positive and negative aspects.
The taste of the pizzas was enjoyable, offering a pleasing flavor, and one of the male waiters provided friendly and accommodating service.
However, we encountered several disappointments. Two pizzas were overly salty, and all of them were served lukewarm instead of piping hot. Despite multiple requests, water took a while to arrive, and the absence of a standard spicy chili sauce for the pizza was surprising. Additionally, several items on the menu were unavailable, limiting our choice, because they did not have salsiccia.
While one waiter was friendly and helpful, another seemed forgetful and insincere.
The poor price-to-quality ratio was evident due to small dish sizes, excessive saltiness, and a lack of the final Italian touch (lack of key Italian ingredients and taste).
We recommend addressing issues with temperature and saltiness in the pizzas, ensuring prompt service for basic requests like water, and to always have...
Read moreQuite nice design and location. Waiters wear dirty aprons and their trousers were dirty too. Food was as everywhere in Oslo at this pricepoint (200-300 per dish) - decent ingredients, but no finesse and if you have been eating authentic cuisine before, you'll be very underwhelmed and surprised at how/what they serve it with. When paying noticed the second item on the bill was beer we never ordered, which was immediately removed, I paid, and then looked at the receipt again and item nr1 was coffee we never ordered (didn't realize as we did order coffee, but they were on the receipt further down). Oh yes, that's not your coffee.... Got money refunded by a manger - he just gave me the receipt with - that's all done. No apologies from anyone, and no goodbyes, when we left either. Had to travel to Norway of all places to get cheated...
