Asian Aroma | Japanese Restaurant
People who love to eat are always the best people! For the love of Japanese food, We visited Japanese and Thai Restaurant “Asian Aroma” in Park Lane Hotel situated on one of the most busiest road in Gulberg Lahore. Beautifully designed and the neutral colours around were complimenting the fine dining experience with availability of live Teppanyaki Counter. When the ambience is natural and comfortable, I find it unforgettable.
The menu pages are thick with a variety of dishes including Japanese Shusi (Raw fish with rice), Teppanyaki (with choices of Beef, Chicken and Red Snapper) , Thai and Chinese but the overall dining experience was not which our taste buds were looking for.
The best i could find were their Spring Rolls and Jumbo Prawns for starters. In the mains the best was Beef Teppanyaki (Although its texture was very different from the actual Teppanyaki) and Egg fried rice was made to perfection which is usually considered as a side order now a days with no attention to the details it requires. Let me evaluate all the dishes we had in more details.
Hot & Sour Soup- Saltless with loads of cornflour but served with fresh crispy complimentary Crackers. 3/10 for soup 10/10 for crackers
Jumbo Prawn Tempura- Real jumbo sized prawns are a rare find now a days in our restaurants. They were coated with crispy batter. (8/10)
Spring Rolls- Rite amount of oil with vegetables, chicken and Sauce made them the must have at this place (9/10)
Wasabi Chicken- Overdosed with wasabi sauce, the finger sized chicken pieces couldn’t blend with the sauce (4/10)
Poocha- Want to try something different? Then order this cutlets which also have crab meat in it and will definitely give you a Desi taste in a Thai dish (7/10)
Sushi Platter- Included Crunchy Maki, California Maki and Salmon Rolls. Sushi is raw fish filled with rice but as i am not a sushi lover so I want rate this dish. The making of sushi itself was great learning experience for me.
Teppanyaki Counter- We tried in all three flavours; Beef, Chicken & Fish ( Red Snipper). Perhaps the best part of our visit was the learning experience of making of this famous Japanese dish. The chef cooked Teppanyaki on Teppan in-front of us. The main ingredients of Teppanyaki were Beef/Seafood/Chicken with Chopped Garlic, Soybean Oil, SoyaSauce, Japanese salt & Sautéed Vegetables served with garlic fried rice. Beef was the best among all three and was well cooked and chewable.6.5/10
American ChopSuey- Layers of ketchup and chicken which seemed to hate each other in the company of The noodles. (4/10)
Chicken ChowMien- Could have been a better treat if Oil was less (3/10)
Egg Fried Rice: The quality of rice used were great and as i already compliment above, It was made to perfection. (8/10)
Pavlova (Desert)- Topped with strawberry chunk and whipped cream, it was crispy on the out and soft from the inside and lite on the tummy. (7/10)
There were more dishes as well but i was on a full stomach by then that I couldn’t even taste them.
Summarising the story, experience was average. Great to learn the making of Teppanyaki and Sushi but will not suggest to visit this place to anyone. Overall...
Read moreI am currently staying at this hotel. It is now 3:30am and I so upset with this hotel I’m reaching out to others not to book and have the experience I am having.||We are a group of the 3 currently touring Pakistan by road. We stated our journey by road from Karachi and are currently staying here in Lahore.||Firstly , we booked for 4 ppl however one of our friends couldn’t make it. Other hotels we have stayed at have reached out on the booking.com platform and asked if we required anything before our arrival such as an airport transfer or what is our eta to the hotel. Park Lane simply sent a message explaining that should you not checkin by 4pm your booking will be cancelled. This caused me serious anxiety and added unnecessary stress. I rang the hotel and told them we are definitely coming and not to cancel. We thankfully arrived and was told that we only have one room booked. This was then changed to you have two double rooms booked. At no time were we asked about the 4th person and we have now paid for our friend in his absence.||Next the rooms , yes we are sharing beds. We asked about our selected twin rooms , however was told simply that these have been prioritised for the pakistan under 19’s cricket team who are staying at same. We were given the option of having a spare mattress out in the room. The porter did bring up however this was retuned due to the horrid smell emanating from it. I don’t think it has been cleaned.||The reason I am up is that the air conditioning unit doesn’t work. Instead there is a vent in the room blowing air , this air has a stench. This is simply not a the quality i had expected from a hotel in Gulberg. ||I have asked 5 times for our room to be f cleaned today and to be provided with clean towels and toilet paper. My requests were simply ignored.||The rooms are really outdated. The bathrooms are much worse. They do not even have the basic shampoo and shower gels you would expect from a hotel which advertises it self as exceptional. ||The smell is now unbearable. I have a sour throat and deeply regret booking this hotel. ||For me it’s not my first visit to Lahore. For my friends it is and they will not be coming again. So far we have stayed in such amazing hotels with amazing staff reaching out to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. |This is not the case with Park Lane, most of the staff just stare at you.||As a foreigner, this hotel has made me feel like I’m not wanted in Pakistan. ||The breakfast consists of mainly a lunch menu with limited items for foreigners like a continental breakfast. ||There is no coffee facilities in room or at breakfast. The pillows are soo hard and big you get neck strain. ||If you are thinking of booking this hotel , DO NOT , save your health , money and insanity . There are some amazing Hotels in Lahore or a fraction of the cost.||Also internet is terrible , disconnects every...
Read moreOut of all the pandemic started like 6-7 months ago has changed everything in the world, every one is supposed to bound at their homes just to keep themselves and their families safe from this virus.
Suddenly by the grace of ALLAH Almighty somehow the transmission of virus stopped and all closed restaurants ,malls ,schools are opened now ALLHAMDULILLAH, What you have missed these 6-7 months? Dine-in right? Let me take you the story of my friend giving me treat. Yes you heard it right treat lol.
We decided to go for Hi-Tea at Park Lane , Park lane is famous for its high tea and luxurious hotel suits and roof top restaurant , Being in the mid of Lahore and yet due to its beautiful and cozy ambiance many of the families plan a get together on hitea there.
So, we were 3 friends and we entered to the hotel and the ambiance and peaceful environment of their restaurant “The Spot” is on point , what actually matter other than food is environment in which you are going to sit for next 30-60 minutes.
Coming to the food items listed on high-tea , had 2 hi-teas before at the same place but I felt like items were limited , as they opened today , it was their first day so may be their wass some issue , going exact to the items available,
I tried their tikka boti, pizza, mini burgers ,Haleem . Tikka boti was fresh and juicy like I have seen so many times it becomes dry at many places it wasn’t like that, Pizza wasn’t available at first but in my next round I found it luckily again it was fresh and seems average in taste to me , maybe my taste buds wasn’t accepting it , Haleem was good cant so to it as a lahori lol Keeping it traditional dish I would say it was really good.
Deserts section is where I don’t go most of the times, lol not a sweet tooth person, but I tried the donuts and small pastries whatever they were tasted fresh.
Service here is what needs appreciation, They were fast and extremely co-operative , always in many resturants service is extremely slow or poor but not here!
