Read moreOne of the very good Restaurants (not only "bistro") in Davao with a touch of international quality! You have the choice of a very wide spread of food there, good starters, Philippino and international dishes. The Decoration is nice (even if it is old-fashioned 50th year stile of British empire), the Staff is friendly and helpful. But... it is really expensiv. That makes it not to the top restaurant: You get very good food, no question. But you pay a high price compared to other first-class restaurants in Davao. E.g. i had a US-Ribeye Steak for 1.600 Pesos. The Steak was big, like a big American hand size. But it was thin! Maybe only 5 mm (1/2 cm), maybe a bit les. It was good prepared, it was tasty, it was tender. They serve also one of the best gravy i got here in Davao to it and a small vegetable side dish. As a real side dish, they serve a house-made bread. Only my 2 cent: If they serve this for 990 pesos or maybe 1100 Pesos, it would be worth it. But 1.600 Pesos is out of range for this. On the other hand, you have clean CR (Good and clean in Philippino measurement), nice Restaurant (not too cool, not to warm), perfect staff and you have also a great outside dine area. So, you pay also for the environment. We will go back there if we have a special occasion, but "just for a dinner" it is...

We tried to understand, considering we were only walk-in customers. However, we noticed some empty tables with finished guests, and informed the waiter that we were willing to wait. They insisted that we couldn't be accommodated inside, despite it not being rush hour (we arrived at 2 pm for a late lunch).
Instead, they offered us the outdoor/garden area, which was unpleasant due to the strong stench, stagnant rainwater, and dusty chairs and tables. We appreciated the kindness of one waiter who assisted us outside. After a minute, my friend felt frustrated, sensing discriminatory treatment, and asked to speak with the manager. Interestingly, the manager offered us a table previously claimed to be reserved for guests supposedly on their way.
To make matters worse, none of our requested orders were available, including pizza, due to a lack of available wood (it was wet from the rain). We chose not to let it ruin our mood and accepted their only available...
