I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express a concern that left me feeling disheartened during my recent visit to the church for the Palm Sunday blessing.

While I fully understand and respect the church's policies, including restrictions on bringing pets inside, I was taken aback by the manner in which the reminder was delivered. A man, who I assume holds a position in the church, approached me and firmly stated that dogs are not allowed inside because they could "ruin the celebration." I found the tone and wording quite discouraging.

I would like to clarify that my dog is well-trained, calm, and accustomed to attending such events without causing disruption. In fact, earlier during our visit, a lecturer kindly asked about our purpose, and upon hearing that we were only there for a brief blessing, allowed us to proceed without issue.

While I acknowledge that rules must be followed, I believe they can be communicated with kindness and understanding, especially in a place meant to foster compassion and community. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling somewhat unwelcome and disappointed.

I share this not in resentment, but in the hope that future interactions can be more gracious, especially towards individuals who come in good faith.

Thank you for taking the time to hear...

One of Manila's national shrines is devoted to the veneration of Mother Mary. It stands as a tranquil sanctuary, ideal for contemplation, prayer, and partaking in a sacred communion. Inside the church, you'll be captivated by its awe-inspiring beauty, akin to many European churches. Its grandeur and magnitude exemplify the sacredness of this revered basilica. In Quezon City, it stands among the finest churches, boasting not only remarkable architectural structure but also a meticulously designed and well-preserved interior. With its pristine and unadorned altar, spacious long benches, and resplendent stained glass windows, every aspect is a testament to the artistry and care put into its creation.

Nestled in a peaceful location away from bustling activity, the basilica provides a serene escape for visitors. Despite its tranquil setting, it remains a popular destination for devoted followers. Here, one can find solace and meaning, engaging in profound reflections and prayers. The basilica's lofty ceilings and large fans ensure a cool ambiance even on the hottest summer days.

For those who seek to offer votive candles, a small contribution allows access to a designated area. Truly, this basilica is an enchanting and tranquil place, deserving of a visit from Catholics and admirers of...

One of the best churches in Quezon City, from its architectural structure itself, to its interior, the neat and simple altar, big long benches, the stained glass windows, everything is perfectly designed and maintained. Parking area is wide and can accomodate a lot of vehicles, it is also well-managed by the guards and some parking attendants, entrance and exit gates are very much accessible. If by chance the parking is full, street parking is allowed. Vendors are all outside the church and they have their mini-stores set up everytime there is mass only. The best thing we love with this church is how quiet and solemn it is, especially if you visit in the morning to pray. This is one of my wife's...

The Shrine of Our Lady of Carmel is a long-standing church in Broadway, Quezon City. This is my revisit to the Church as of Nov 22, 2024. This is where I passed by and took the mass when I was a college student in FEU Manila around 2004, accessible by either jeepney or LRT 2. Some of the officiating priest is a European nationals, and beside the altar has a Vatican flag in the corner. On the left side of the basilica are crypts or columbarium, where the late Chief Justice Andres Narvasa's ash remains was located. The Basilica has a wide parking area, and the environment was generally peaceful despite being nestled by heavy traffic in Broadway Avenue heading to the direction of Aurora Blvd.

Massive and grand is how I would describe this hallowed basilica; I think it has the same size as the Manila Cathedral or the Binondo Basilica…I think! Located in a not-so-busy location (read as quiet, less traffic) and yet devotees still flock to this place. A very solemn and meaningful way to reflect and pray. The basilica has high ceilings with big fans that even a sweltering summer day will keep the interiors cool. There is also a place to light votive candles with a minimal donation. A blessed Sunday to everyone and a good week ahead to all!
