Qui Pan Asian Brasserie mainly serves fusion Asian food. The food was okay, because my rating for the dishes I’ve tried were varied. Some dishes were good Stand out pork knuckles) and even great (Baked Salmon) but some dishes were okay (Bam Thai noodles, Crispy Calamari) and even bad (Caldereta Stone Pot).
Here’s more detailed feedback: Asian BBQ Platter (10 sticks for a whooping 1280 pesos) - I like the variety of meat they offered (shrimp, chicken, pork), but this dish was expensive for just 10 sticks. The octopus was a bit tough too. The rest of the platter tasted good.
Crispy Calamari - batter is on the thicker side. Each bite of the calamari felt like street food fishball. The aioli sauce was more delicious than the chili sauce, which lacked heat.
Bam Thai - The fried noodles and sauce were individually presented first. Then they proceeded to mix both at the side of your table. I think this is a fusion of Bam-I and Pad Thai. Regardless, the food tasted okay. I couldn’t really understand what flavor they were going for.
Caldereta Stone Pot - It really lacked tomato flavor. I also wish they made the risotto creamier to have a tomato cream base. The beef chunks were tender though. I was planning to serve this to my baby, but the risotto part was apparently spicy.
Stand Out Pork Knuckles - solid Crispy Pata. I notice they do like to garnish their food with fried onions.
Baked Salmon - best dish I tried. A big slab of salmon with cheese sauce on top with bok choy on the side.
The restaurant, a renovated house, is spacious with good acoustics. It has two floors for indoor dining and a large outdoor dining area. They also serve bar drinks like mocktails and cocktails but I didn’t try them.
Tip: Cellphone Signal can be weak inside the restaurant so ask your waiter for the free...
Read moreI visited this restaurant last evening with my parents and while the food quality was excellent (4.5/5), I feel compelled to share feedback about the service experience. During our meal, an unfortunate incident occurred when my father’s beer bottle fell and shattered on our table as it was being served. While the waiter promptly apologized and cleaned up the glass, we were left concerned about potential glass fragments in our food. Despite our visible inspection of our plates, no proactive measures were taken to address this legitimate safety concern - such as offering to replace our dishes or providing reassurance. The manager did approach us to offer a replacement beer and thank us for our visit, which was appreciated. However, there were additional service gaps that detracted from our experience. When I inquired about my drink missing a garnish that was featured in the menu photo, the manager explained their equipment had broken earlier in the day. Unfortunately, our server hadn’t informed us of this limitation when I ordered, which would have influenced my selection. Most disappointingly, when we received our bill, we were charged for the replacement beer despite the original never being consumed due to the accident. Given the disruption and safety concerns caused by the incident, some form of accommodation would have been appropriate and more in line with standard hospitality practices. While I would return to try more of their clearly well-prepared food, I hope the management will consider how service recovery situations are handled to better match the quality of their...
Read moreFood was not so bad. It is my second time to visit here and our first time was a good experience, especially with our server, Frank.
If you are planning to hold parties here, or come here as a big group, the area can accommodate but they are unable to handle it. With 25 pax and considering the size of the restaurant, they should expect noise.
The cocktails for happy hour was so slow, even the beer came last. We have reserved days before, advised our requests and the number of pax, yet on the day, they treated us as troublemakers. No apologies from Greta, the manager, for the slow service, only excuses. Below are the photos the time we are here, it is not even full house. So can you imagine if it is full house yet they do not want you to make noise? Mind you, they are also promoting live bands over the weekend.
We could have easily spent more over our consumable but because of how we were treated, we just left early. We have guests from other countries and we were quite embarrased considering that we have been to so many restaurants with better food and great service.
There was poor coordination with reservation and manager. We made our downpayment to reserve yet when the bill came in, they did not deduct the deposit. We were informed after we paid the bill.
Kudos to Frank and our other server for making sure we still have good service despite poor planning and execution from the management. You ought to give them the higher salary than your manager for their...
