Had to travel to Manila last minute in December, which is understandably peak season for hotels. Bec of the high traffic, I ended up with 2 reservations under 2 diff room types. There was a gap in the middle of my stay bec the hotel was listed as fully booked, but upon asking front desk, luckily someone cancelled their reservation last min and I was able to complete my stay without changing hotels.
Location: Summit Magnolia is located adjacent to Robinsons mall, which is great bec you have access to a lot of shops and restaurants. There’s a door from the hotel leading directly to the mall. The hotel is also located about a 5 minute walk away from the Gilmore station of LRT2.
Sadly, what makes the location great also has its downs. The entrance to the hotel is by the driveway leading to the mall and parking, so during busy mall hours it is very inconvenient to stop here. They didn’t give enough allowance for more than one car to temporarily park and let off passengers to the hotel.
Service: Front Desk was mostly very helpful and friendly during my stay. Staff in the halls and elevators would greet guests who came by. I did have one not-so-good experience when I was moving rooms & needed to check in again, where my room wasn’t ready by checkin time so I was asked to wait on the side. 40 minutes later and they still hadn’t called me, while I saw guests who arrived later than me being checked in. Apparently, front desk forgot about me (what the person at FD literally told me).
Rooms: Rooms are comfy, but partially in need of repair and updates. Beds were soft but some tiles were noticeably cracked. TVs are equipped with cable and the wifi connection is good. There is not much of a view though from either side of the building as one faces the street and empty buildings, while the other has a view of the roof of the Robinsons mall.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are modern looking with hair dryers, a bidet, and amenities. There’s also a small drying wire in the shower. I had an issue with the dispensers though (they had one each for shampoo and body soap, and another for handsoap by the sink): you had to press down REALLY HARD on them for them to dispense their contents.
Another was that some tiles are old and loose so the water had seeped in under them, so they’re somewhat wobbly and if you step on them (even if the shower is dry), water will come out. Also, there is hot water in the shower, but the pressure is not consistent so when the pressure decreases in the middle of your bath, the hot water also turns cold.
Hallways: During my stay, they were doing a lot of repairs in the flooring in the halls. They weren’t particularly noisy but can be a bother when you’re wheeling your luggage.
Parking: The parking area for the hotel is shared with that of Robinsons mall. If you are a guest at the hotel, you get free parking at the mall. The hassle is that every time you leave (bring your car out), you have to sign in at the front desk and they’ll give you a coupon which you surrender (with the parking card) when you exit the parking area. Finding a spot may be an issue during peak mall hours. Sadly the hotel doesnt have designated parking spaces, or even signs that indicate which spaces are closest to the hotel elevator (there’s a separate elevator from the parking area that goes directly to the hotel lobby). What makes it hard, location-wise, is that the hotel elevator is located right near the B1 drop off (near the food court) and is in the first level of basement parking, so it’s always the first to be full. If you don’t get here before peak hours, or if you don’t park after mall hours (you can still enter if you’re a hotel guest), you will find parking to be a major challenge.
Overall, I think the highest selling point of the hotel is its proximity to the mall and what it has to offer. If you don’t have high expectations for the ambiance of your hotel, and if you don’t mind that parts of the hotel rooms need updating, then this place is okay. If sleeping in a comfy bed is all you require, then Summit is a...

However, despite requesting two beds in one room and being assured it was arranged, the request was not fulfilled, which was a bit disappointing.||Room Quality:|The room was spacious, clean, and had all the basics covered, providing good value for money. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows could use more fluff. Amenities included a TV with decent channels, reliable Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, and a water refilling station outside the room. Indoor slippers, a safe, laundry bags, and toiletries (including toothbrushes and toothpaste) were also provided.||The bathroom was well-sized and included a bidet, but there were issues with the water pressure, especially at night. The hot water was inconsistent and would often shut off, making it difficult to use the rain shower. Noise levels were another concern; being near the elevators, we could hear people in the hallways quite clearly. However, there was no outside noise from traffic or the mall, which was a plus.||Facilities:|The hotel does not have a pool, and we didn’t see the gym during our stay. The lobby is simple and functional, and the elevators work well. Parking is shared with the mall, which can be a challenge during peak hours. It would be great if the hotel designated specific parking spaces for checked-in guests to make parking more convenient.||Dining:|Our room package didn’t include breakfast, but based on our companions’ feedback, the buffet had limited choices and the flavors were somewhat bland.||Staff:|The hotel staff was a highlight of our stay. They were consistently friendly, greeted us warmly, and responded quickly to requests.||Location:|The location is one of the best features of Summit Magnolia Hotel. Being inside the mall gives easy access to restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. It’s also close to public transportation and government offices, making it convenient for business travelers. The area felt safe throughout our stay.||Value for Money:|For its price point, the hotel offers decent value, with spacious and clean rooms that rival those of more expensive hotels. However, the amenities are basic, and the issues with water pressure and noise could be improved.||Overall Impression:|Summit Magnolia Hotel is a great option for travelers with business in the city or those looking for a convenient location near public transport and essential services. However, it’s not ideal for a staycation or those seeking leisure facilities like a pool.||Suggestions for Improvement:| • Address water pressure and hot water issues, especially at night.| • Improve soundproofing for rooms near the elevator.| • Consider reserving parking spaces for checked-in guests.| • Enhance breakfast offerings to provide more variety and better flavors.| • Provide more consistent fulfillment of room requests (e.g., bed configurations).||Would definitely recommend it for a practical and affordable city stay, especially for...
