More Than Just a Church
So, what makes this church special? First, it’s a basilica, which means it has been given a special honor by the Pope. Not all churches get this title, and it’s a big deal in the Catholic world. This church was built in the 1950s by the Carmelite friars, and ever since, it has been a center for devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
If you’ve ever seen or heard of the Brown Scapular, this is the perfect place to learn more about it. Many people believe that wearing the scapular brings protection and blessings, and thousands of devotees come here every year to receive one.
A Simple Yet Stunning Beauty
Unlike the older, Spanish-era churches, this one has a modern but classic design. When you walk inside, the high ceilings, soft lighting, and peaceful atmosphere make you feel instantly at ease. And right above the altar, you’ll find the beautiful image of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which draws people into prayer and reflection.
A Place of Prayer, Miracles, and Weddings
People don’t just come here for Sunday Mass—they come to seek miracles, offer prayers, and celebrate life’s big moments. In fact, this church is also a favorite for weddings because of its grand but intimate feel. Imagine walking down the aisle here—romantic, right?
Why You Should Visit
Whether you’re here to pray, admire the architecture, or just take a break from the busy city, this place gives you a sense of calm and connection. It’s a reminder that no matter how crazy life gets, there’s always a space for peace and reflection.

Read moreLet me first say that I grew up attending mass at OLMC. I've met great individuals of this organization and it pains me to write this review in the first place. This review is aimed towards the church's office and not the church itself. I was scheduled to be married on Feb 8, 2019 and had to do my wedding banns at OLMC. I gave my banns on Jan. 9 and was informed that it will be posted on Jan 13, 20, 27 and would be available for pick up on the 31st. I thought that it was fine. 3 weeks later, I come back on the 31st to be surprised that it was posted late, that it would be available on Feb 6. TWO DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. Apparently, the young female staff who was responsible for the banns forgot to post them. I was angry and frustrated but there was nothing that could be done. Today Feb 6, I went back and to finally get my banns. To my dismay, IT WAS STILL UNACCOMPLISHED! The young female staff was not at least remorseful or repentant of the problems she did. Never provided a single sorry but kept smiling and smiling as if what she did was something to be proud of. I love this church and I will continue to attend mass here until the day I die. But my God, that office has some cleaning up to do. To those hoping to be wed in this church, go ahead. It's a beautiful church. Keep in mind that you will have to deal with that young female staff and hopefully you will never experience what I had to go...
Read moreSo far, this Church exceeds our expectations in terms of managing and accommodating our wedding preparations. 5 star on their customer service, updating on our wedding requirements, they use to call us for reminding our canonical interview.. giving us an option for us to opt on budget friendly wedding.. the parish priest which we had met from our interview advocates the good relationship in God inside marriage. That makes us admire him. The sound system on their church has a good surround sounds where we hear them clearly and not "kulob or ngongo".
I will give another review once we have done on our wedding on July 8. I hope it will turned out perfectly. 🙏 Wish...
