I stayed here twice and would return for good reasons. 1) The price of the rooms is really affordable and above what you pay. I mean you could go elsewhere and feel scandalous (you know what I mean) OR cheap (like just looking for somewhere to sleep without thinking of comfort, been there done that). The rooms are decent, actually cozy for its price. Add it feels like a comfortable house room, not a hotel so it makes you feel at home. I've used this place twice for work (once to get early to Vertis and one when traffic was so bad) and yes, my mind worked well being here. Not too noisy and I like how private you feel being here. And yes, I got good sleep here. 2) Easy access to tricycles and taxi. Yes and motor cycle apps and groups could get you here easily. The neighborhood feels safe for walks but still be careful. There's a variety of hotels here but I prefer this as it is near a main road (Road 8) and just a few steps you get to Mindanao Avenue. This is also my new recommended sleep over place to friends if we play old school games in an arcade on Road 3 near Bagong Lipunan Pagasa Condominium. 3) Food delivery is easy if you know the road numbers and can give good pointers. The food selection though in the area along Road 8 is not that good but there's a good bakery a few blocks away (Pagasa bakery). Dunkin Donuts is also a short walk (but I suggest never taking the alleys at night). You can also get food ahead from nearby marts. No worries as a short jeepney ride from Mindanao Avenue could get you to Visayas Avenue for better food or to West Avenue if you are craving old faves. 4) There's laundry service, there's spa recommendations (and they don't seem seedy or scary, will try), there's always water you can buy at the lobby. Though it's not open 24 hours. 5) Cleanliness, I've been to bad ones which looked new outside with new installed furniture but still dirty. This one looks old outside and some furniture looks old but I prefer that than everything looking new. I didn't encounter bad smells from restrooms or pillows. No receptionist available at night. The guard is the receptionist but treat them with respect and you will be treated fairly. I guess those who say bad things about service here felt so entitled in the first place. Check your budget folks. For a simple hotel condo, this place is better than most I have been. This is a no smoking space. That's my fave part. I don't know why some say they see cig butts. That would be found immediately I believe. Add this best is ideal for kids but remind not to be too noisy as yes, you could hear maybe next room if they are cleaning or shouting. Planning to spend the holidays here maybe on a room downstairs. My only comment was the Internet. It works downstairs but upstairs it didn't. Either way, I'll bring back up Internet. Could be also a good urban hideaway from the Internet.

Didn't expect the room is spacious for its price. Pros: - Spacious room - Perfect pillows - Comfy comforter and linen - Heater in shower - Working AC - Lights behind the bed!! -Clean room. Cons: -Windows with no view but wall. -Lighting were dim. It makes the room sad. -TV remote is not working. Suggestions: -Can put electric kettle for coffee. -Free water bottle. -Need to put white lights to brighten the room. -Put white lights to make the room looks cleaner.

The hotel is near my workplace and SM North. Only problem is you have to walk a bit since most cars/puvs don't pass the area. It is accessible though, can be a bit tiring when carrying huge luggage. The room I got was big. However, the sheets of the bed don't seem very clean. The bathroom smells, the draining hole is open so many insects fester the bathroom and toilet. They provided drinking water, towels, soap and shampoo. The tv has many korean shows.

I would like to start with the positive side of this review. My general feeling towards OYO the brand is good. The beds are comfortable with a memory foam style of comfort and the staff in the hotels are usually very friendly and meet all the requests of their guests while sometimes even exceeding them. This being the case in OYO 171 in alabang where the staff are always on hand to assist with any request whether it be a simple photocopy of a document you require or some information on nice places to visit the point is they were always available and served you with a smile. The staff did this while maintaining professionalism at a standard recognized worldwide. However I have found these standards are under threat by the lack comprehension of the very definition of hospitality. This matter irks me to the very core that these basic fundamentals are so disregarded in such a way. The fact of the matter is that certain individuals should not be front of house if they do not possess certain character attributes. for example a polite, friendly and approachable manner while understanding that the customer always comes first while putting aside any issues or personal matters that may interrupt the level of service a customer receives. This is one of the fundamentals first impressions are usually the only impressions that count. Now my problem with this particular hotel is the level of service I received on arrival. We arrived all fresh in good spirits excited about our new travels ahead as well as where we were going to stay. We were greeted by a guard that was polite and friendly enough to inform us that he will tell the front of house that we had arrived and that we were on lunch. This being absolutely fine as I noticed a sign saying check in at 14:00. This has never really been a problem as all other hotels were very accommodating and allowed us to check in early. Anyway 20 minutes later the receptionist/manager walked straight past us without even any eye contact and walked behind her desk. 5 minutes later she got up and walked back past us also without eye contact or a simple greeting no explanation regarding us checking in nothing! This incredibly rude lady continued to do this for one hour! We were able to order a couple of milk teas in the interim that were delivered with a smile the best customer service I have seen in that hotel. Anyway after an hour I just had to say something her explanation was that she was on lunch and had to brush her teeth. Another golden rule of hospitality always put the customer first before your personal issues problems etc as we are not interested. We have paid to stay in a hotel regardless of how cheap it is and it should not reflect the level of service given to customers. In her Defence she did apologize profusely and then gave us what appeared to be an upgraded room if not then it looked better than what it looked like in the picture. The bed was quite comfortable however there were that seemed to be some slight infestation of cockroaches in the room that we found in the bed disgusting! I will copy and paste this review to trip advisor with pictures I know they say you get what you pay for but OYO has never really let me down this is obviously the difference with franchise vs...

I stayed here twice and would return for good reasons.

  1. The price of the rooms is really affordable and above what you pay.

I booked this via Agoda and since I am an AgodaVIP Platinum member, Agoda gave me this benefit "VIP Only – Room Upgrade (upon availability), Express check-in, Free WiFi, VIP only - Early check in (up to 2 hours and upon availability)". I don't expect to avail this benefit since it's a hit and miss, but I tried nonetheless.. I went to the property at 1:45PM (15 minutes before the standard check-in time and a far from the 2 hours early check-in time). I politely asked the lady at the counter if I can check-in early since I have this room benefit as an AgodaVIP Platinum member (I am checking in my mom) but she told me that the standard check-in time is 2PM and she's not aware of this AgodaVIP benefits. She also told me that there are no rooms available since they are fully booked (impossible since 12nn is the standard check-out time). I am really disappointed. If they can't give consideration for a mere 15-minute leeway time for early check-in , then I think Agoda should not offer this to AgodaVIP members and the hotel should properly orient their staff about this. Very bad experience and i won't recommend booking this hotel...
