As a child, I remember this place very differently. The seaside has been occupied by informal settlers, and both settlers and the nearby school threw garbages in the sea, contaminating and polluting the waters. Walking in the pier will make you queasy because of the stench and the unsightly heaps of garbage will convince you not to visit again. You wont come here to hang around and kill time, you'll be disheartened by its state and/or be intimidated by the locals. The pier was infamous because some settlers are known troublemakers, even drug addicts frequented the place to do their deeds. It was both scary and nauseating at the same time to visit the pier.
Years passed and a lot of improvement was made. There are fewer settlers and significantly less garbage in the sea. Gone is the horrible smell and the awful sight of trash. Replaced by cottages and establishments. An ongoing expansion and development only means that a lot more improvements are coming. People can now visit without worrying for their safety and health. This place became alive and vibrant, day and night.
May this place continues to develop and the people of Sorsogon protect it, keep it clean and alive for more generations to come.

Read moreThis is the kind of place that anybody from all walks of life can visit and have a good and relaxing time. The best time to do your physical, mental and spiritual exercise is early in the morning, before the sun rises. Watching the sun in Sorsogon Rompeolas is really breath-taking. And witnessing for the sun sets is just awesome! There are plenty of food stalls to choose from. There's a variety of snacks and drinks for a very affordable price. At night, when almost all fast-food chains were closed, you can always find restaurants here to buy for your dinner. Or better yet, reserve a table for your family. Contact numbers are easily found in their fb or internet. You just have to know the name of the restaurants. There are also a variety of food. From Filipino, American, Mexican to Japanese cuisine. However, what I really enjoyed eating is the famous Goto overload. I think Sorsogon Rompeolas' biggest highlight is the newly build 6 km(almost) 4-lane or the Sorsogon City Coastal Road. If you grew up in Sorsogon, you wouldn't believe that this kind of road project will ever materialize, the road is truly a progressive site and a...
