Casa-Museu Bissaya Barreto — Attraction in Coimbra

A fascinating, well kept house full of beautiful art and objects. I was very fortunate to have a guided tour with a university student who was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. I recommend a visit. It's close to the aqueduct and botanical gardens. Opens 11 to 13 and again in the afternoon most days. Well worth the 3 euro admission.

Such beautiful and well-kept collections in the residence, and the grounds are also well manicured. We were the only ones there and spent well over an hour...

Não deixem de visitar a casa museu Bissaya Barreto, residência do médico cirurgião catedrático de Coimbra Bissaya Barreto que aqui na sua residência viveu 50 anos. Terminada a construção em 1925, a construção de 2 pisos em estilo neo barroco, tem um torreão octogonal e um jardim enorme recheado de estátuas e azulejos.
