It’s a railway station. I took train from mosocw to st.pt for 11 hours for 700rub. But you must buy the ticket few months before as it is still cheap. The station here got a big map at the main hall. And at the hall got many exit, so choose your exit wisely, because once go out, there is no turn back. The train I took was as shown in the picture. U need to put the bed sheet and pillow case urself, and when the train reaching the destination, the crew will asked you to clean ur place and fold all the bed sheet and pillow case to return to the crew. All are self service. In the train also selling hot water, water bottle and hot tea. But you must paid for it. If not mistaken it around 70rub for the hot tea.

Moscow Station is a railway terminal in St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city. It is the northern terminus of the Moscow-St. Petersburg railway and is located at 85 Nevsky Prospekt. Trains to Moscow, south-central Russia, Siberia, Crimea and eastern Ukraine are here. It was opened in 1851 and was named after Tsar Nicholas I, known as the Nikolaevs base station. In 1924, it was renamed October Station. In 1930, the current name was changed. In 1993, a bronze bust of Peter the Great was unveiled.

Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, and scientific centre of Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as the largest cityentirely on the European continent. By broader definitions Moscow is among the world's largest cities, being the 14th largest metro area, the 18th largest agglomeration, the 14th largest urban area, and the 11th largest by population within city limits worldwide. According to Forbes 2013,13] Moscow has been ranked as the ninth most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the world's largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and is also one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world according to the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index.

Moscow is the northernmost and coldest megacity and metropolis on Earth. It is home to the Ostankino Tower, the tallest free standing structure in Europe; the Federation Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Europe; and the Moscow International Business Center. By its territorial expansion on July 1, 2012 southwest into the Moscow Oblast, the area of the capital more than doubled, going from 1,091 to 2,511 square kilometers (421 to 970 sq mi), and it gained an additional population of 233,000 people.[14

Moscow is situated on the Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, making it Europe's most populated inland city. The city is well known for its architecture, particularly its historic buildings such as Saint Basil's Cathedral with its brightly coloured domes. With over 40 percent of its territory covered by greenery, it is one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world, having the largest forest in an urban area within its borders—more than any other major city—even before its expansion in 2012. The city has served as the capital of a progression of states, from the medieval Grand Duchy of Moscow and the subsequent Tsardom of Russia to the Russian Empire to the Soviet Union and the contemporary Russian Federation.

Moscow is the seat of power of the Government of Russia, being the site of the Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is today the residence for work of the President of Russia. The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are also one of several World Heritage Sites in the city. Both chambers of the Russian parliament (the State Duma and the Federation Council) also sit in the city. Moscow is considered the centre of Russian culture, having served as the home of Russian artists, scientists and sports figures and because of the presence of museums, academic and political institutions and theatres.

The city is served by a transit network, which includes four international airports,[16] nine railway terminals, numerous trams, a monorail system and one of the deepest underground rapid transit systems in the world, the Moscow Metro, the fourth-largest in the world and largest outside Asia in terms of passenger numbers, and the busiest in Europe. It is recognised as one of the city's landmarks due to the rich architecture of its 200 stations.[citation needed]

Moscow has acquired a number of epithets, most referring to its size and preeminent status within the nation: The Third Rome(Третий Рим), The Whitestone One (Белокаменная), The First Throne (Первопрестольная), The Forty Forties (Сорок Сороков) (The Forty Soroks, "sorok" translates as forty, but here it is old name of district or parish, and "forty" in old Russian means not 40, but "great many"). Moscow is one of the twelve Hero Cities. In old Russian the word "Сорок" (forty) also meant a church administrative district, which consisted of about forty churches. The demonym for a Moscow resident is "москвич" (moskvich) for male or "москвичка" (moskvichka) for female, rendered in English...

First time experience as traveling from India Ticket counters are in a separate direction.

Communication in English is hard as no clear signboards Washroom are payable in public or within premises.50rub per use.

Ticket area is well organised by token system, but better to book online during peak seasons the lady at the ticket counter was polite, but I had to use the translator app. So it helps out a lot for both on communication. Fares are reasonable Trains are super clean. Pax are Quiet inside trains during movement. So it's peaceful journey.

Snacks and eatables are provided on charge.

Station staff are helpful. Always carry passport as document for international traveling.

Fastest train( SAPSAN) is also available With limited...
