St.kitts & Nevis Independence Square — Attraction in Saint Kitts

Tourist perspective: 5 stars History can be cruel but it is good when it's preserved as a reminder. We are so privileged.

Local perspective: 3 stars 98% of the time its dirty and to be a tourist spot it shouldn't be like that, whoever is the maintenance person is not responsible. Something always wrong with the fountain. It is nice when its nicely painted and we get to see it on.

I know its a historic place but around the area should have a children's park even if it's small.

More benches please.

This is a nice square. I went here while I was at Basseterre and was satisfied with my experience. I walked through the square, which was very nice. The square has a fountain at the center, which looks quite nice. The square is a grassy park with lots of trees, which is nice. There’s also a church located near the square the square. Indenpendence Square is not one of the most beautiful squares nor one of the most striking in the world, but for anyone passing through the port of Basseterre it is worth checking out, as it is just a few minutes walk away and shows a little of the real life of St. .
