Sweet Cane | Restaurant & Bar

Just got back from a cruise and went here during our port in st kitts. A group of us wanted to try some of the best island food and was told this place was it. Upon walking in we were waiting to be seated and once a table was available, it was not cleaned prior to us seating down. After 10 or 15 mins of waiting for our drink order we were told that there was no rice, grouper and one other thing on their menu but we decided that we wanted to try the food anyway. Needless to say the food was great but the customer service was not. Before leaving a group sat down at the table next to us and as their orders were coming out each plate had the exact items they told us they were completely out of. From arriving to leaving it felt as though we were not welcomed. Our bill was always way overpriced than what the menu...

Food was not properly delivered and one did not get get their entree until after all the rest had finished. We had to flag them down and remind them of the remaining entree. When it arrived, it was undercooked. When we told the manager we didn't feel we had reasonable service or quality cooking, and asked for some reduction. She acknowledged that entrees should have been delivered at the same time but was not going to make any adjustment. So they forgot part of the order, then rushed the cooking providing subpar experience but we are charged full price with no apology or concession. Sadly, the person that received this poor service was a local regular customer bringing in a 4 guests. If they treat a regular customer like this, imagine how little concern they have...

We arrived in the port area and my wife and I were looking for a good place to eat that was air conditioned. We saw several restaurants, but they were upstairs and had outside seating. My wife asked a local police woman in the port area where there was a good place to eat. She said “follow me” and took us to Sweet Cane. This place is quiet, air conditioned, has a clean restroom and has excellent food at reasonable prices. I had the double meat sirloin burger with cheese and it was as good as In-n-Out burger.
