This place is a treasure, I've gone many times and even now on and off after many years. Even while no longer living near it anymore. Nostalgia! But ok, as far as a church goes, this is a wonderful bastion of faith. And located very pristinely in the heart of downtown, yet it seems in a small world of its own on the outskirts. This church has a good history, and is very expertly designed. The aura within and without match and coordinate perfectly, I find. And of course there is a small tinge of "Irish charm" to it, so to say. Maybe due to the patron it is named after, maybe the green that can be seen, but assuredly a mystique. Furthermore this place has a very lovely gift shop in the basement, a separate grotto, also underground, for more privacy, and even very nice and clean washrooms. This is a large and active church. A very wonderful and not so hidden gem. The art and feeling do justice. I'm glad it is present. ❤

The architecture is truly breathtaking, and the way of worship is deeply moving. I had the blessing of attending both the Good Friday service and the Easter Vigil, each lasting about two and a half hours of heartfelt worship. The Good Friday narrative was outstanding, drawing everyone into the depth of the Passion. The Easter Vigil began with a beautiful candlelight ceremony, followed by meaningful readings, a powerful Mass, and an excellent arrangement of choral music. The entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The solemnity, the rituals, and the spirit of the celebration were profoundly beautiful. It’s something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. For Good Friday, the church was completely full, so additional seating was arranged in the basement with live video streaming. It’s a good idea to arrive early to find a seat in the main church.

We'd give 10 stars if we could. Finding a right church is so important to feed one's soul/faith, like finding the right restaurant for the stomach! We literally discovered St Patrick's accidentally while touring Ottawa. Whereas other churches we had visited in the area felt short, Pastor Fr. Steven really welcomed people in his genuine/friendly/warm ways! He even introduced his rescued dog to us 🙏😄. Though the church isn't air conditioned, Fr. Steve is really cool in his style! See for yourself and God bless!

Beautiful old church in the middle of downtown Ottawa. Walking through the doors feels like stepping into another era and time just slows down. Multiple options for daily Mass make it possible for working professions to attend - a welcome change from the oft-seen 9:00 a.m. Mass convenient for no one with conventional working hours. Today, multiple priests were available for confession before Mass.

The Saint Patrick's Basílica in Ottawa is the oldest Catholic church for English speakers in Ottawa. It was founded in 1855. The church was considered a Basilica on St. Patrick's Day in 1995 when John Paul II was the Pope. It is located in the intersection of Nepean and Kent in Ottawa city, Ontario.

A beautiful church. Friendly parishioners. We attended the 12:15pm mass. It was a solemn celebration. They have choir and they are good. The mass is in English but some part like the introductory of Gospel and Our Father part is in Latin.
