A cute little sushi shop, which aims to pursue simple rolls and poke (salmon, tuna, eel) and they do them right.

Tuna poke bowl: the bowl was substantial, and filled with perhaps 20% of rice, and the rest was a colourful variety of vegetables, toppings and tuna. The fish was fresh; and the variety of toppings was large. Most importantly, the multitude of flavours blended so well together. The rice was also well marinated, and I cleaned this poke bowl up within 20 minutes and was still craving for more.

Torched salmon sushi: delicious roll, fresh fish and was done just right.

I think many think anyone can make poke bowls, and by dumping a lot of toppings on it, you can pull an okay one. But most forget that since there could be so many different flavours in there, if they are not marinated well, the taste could be off because things can easily contrast each other. I think On Rice does a good job with their marination, from the rice to the toppings, such that everything complimented each other so well it made a fantastic meal.

(with dine-in option, I also got the miso soup although I had not ordered it. The shop is small with limited seating but if you can, opt for dine-in. The atmosphere is pleasant and home-like. This store also feels like family-owned, and everyone was...

We got the Friday special this past Friday which was the dynamite roll. We also got the tuna love and the takoyaki. My husband was so sick after eating this. I was not able to eat almost the whole next day. The rice was like bullets. The octopus was so hard like rubber pellets! The ingredients inside the dynamite roll were off colour. They served us food that was old and bad. 🙁? Guess what. I’m never going back now! If they are serving old and bad special rolls what else is going on in this kitchen. You don’t make the dynamite roll fresh? Whatever. Taking down my good review. Thank yo so much for selling me bad food! Not only did we waste 50 bucks but then lost a days pay being sick. Sad becuase I actually liked this place before this happened, I guess it’s not what it used to be here. Go somewhere else and save yourself getting...

I adore sushi and the fact that I can eat most of it even with the Ménière’s, I adore it even more! I have my favorite place, although today… my favorite place was outranked by On Rice, a cozy family owned Korean & Japanese place in downtown Ottawa. Not only was the quality and price worth it but we also received a surprise “on the house ☺️” note accompanied with 4 delicious spring rolls. The sushi was so good we completely missed taking pictures. It was amazing and the spicy tuna was the most delicious I have ever had! Finally a true “spicy” tuna😍 Thank you On Rice for the treat! We will definitely...

Cozy little sushi spot that’s family-owned and run by a lovely mother-daughter duo. The place is small but has a warm, welcoming vibe. They offer daily specials during the week, which is a nice touch. I tried both the Tuna Love and Salmon Love combos—wouldn’t recommend the tuna, but the salmon was absolutely amazing and worth coming back for. The gyoza tasted like they were cooked from frozen, not house-made, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, I’d definitely return just for that Salmon Love combo. Great little hidden gem if you’re in the mood for quality salmon sushi!
