The new metro itself is very good, modern design, great tech everywhere, spacious, well lit and pretty good informational and directional signage. This station is an architectural marvel but I’m not sure the elaborate and very costly structure/geometry delivers on the promise. There is only one grand hall (fabulous Calder sculpture) and most public circulation areas are rather tight. Plenty of wasted volumetric space, you expect a lot but the reality, on my opinion, is somewhat underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very well done and totally unique, I’m so happy they built it, but I just can’t help thinking that they could created a truly by unique experience and spent a lot less.
