This station is an architectural marvel but I’m not sure the elaborate and very costly structure/geometry delivers on the promise. There is only one grand hall (fabulous Calder sculpture) and most public circulation areas are rather tight. Plenty of wasted volumetric space, you expect a lot but the reality, on my opinion, is somewhat underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very well done and totally unique, I’m so happy they built it, but I just can’t help thinking that they could created a truly by unique experience and spent a lot less.
