This was such a cool experience and a really special way of exploring the island. It's not totally straightforward but we managed to figure it out. You can buy a ticket and a map and that gets you in to all of the different locations. Sometimes the locations aren't open, sometimes they will open when you call them... you just need to see for yourself. There are many different things that we saw - some photography, history, art, antiques and sculptures. Sometimes things were in French and we had to interpret. It's all a lot of fun and a really creative and enjoyable way to experience the small island. I also loved that they sold some traditional glass paintings at the first stop and made a point to go back the next day to buy one.

We had hoped to find lots of photography across the six sites that make up the museum, but there's aren't actually a whole lot of photos. One of the sites had a sculpture exhibition, and a couple lots of big cardboard panels featuring past political leaders and lots of writing (in French). One ticket covers all the sites and you can use it over multiple days. The sites are pretty hard to find, but they are worth finding if only for a look into some great old St -Louis buildings. The best, for some wonderful studio portraits and interiors, is no 6 on the museum map (I think!)

The staff are most welcoming and helpful ☺️. The idea of different locations for me was the most authentic way to experience the island. I loved the various themed exhibitions… the train stations… political journey to independent Africa… the sculptures…the section on the press… for me thé 3 locations i have seen so far 0, 4, 5… tell a gréât story that totally captured my imagination ☺️… the Villa point 0 is exceptionally elegant… comfortable, clean…a gréât refuge from the elements and « tour guides » 😏can’t wait to do the rest today

If I could give it zero stars I would. We wanted to see four museums for €7.50 pp but the person we spoke who worked at the museum promised us it would be way better to visit all the museums (9) for €15 pp. So we did. We saw two museums and and barely intact room without lights wirh about five photographs on the wall. Wirh all the other ones, the people who were supposed to be working and supposed to keep the museums apparently had disappeared and weren’t there. We went back to the reception to get our money back and the guy said he already “registered the money” (which just means he sent it to someone else that he refused to call back). Absolutely a waste of time and money. Everything is fallen apart and most of it isn’t open. Do...

Can't recommend this highly enough for visitors to Saint Louis. The museum is set across a series of beautifully restored buildings (the entrance is worth it to see these alone) and encompasses photography, history, music and more. Lots to see even for those who aren't that into photography.

I should mention that we went in the mid-afternoon and a couple of the buildings were really hot - a morning visit might be a bit calmer!

Special shoutout to the man at the building right by the water who so kindly took us through all of the different rooms, talking us through the sculptures on display. And also to Anushka who told us more about the vision for the project. A real highlight...
