The hotel and its interior are beautiful and clean. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was very basic but tasty, also somewhat expensive and the pricing was inconsistent.
Our main issue was with passive aggressive communication. We accidentally booked 3 rooms for 4 people (instead of 6 people), we told the manager at check in and he told us it was fine. But towards the end of our stay he brought it up and asked for more money, yet weirdly also kept saying it's no problem, it's no problem... The doors were difficult to lock and he told us to be forceful with them. His advice ended up in one of the doors being damaged. He again said it's no problem but specifically bringing it up implied he wanted a contribution, which we refused.

The breakfast is delish (featuring homemade local jams from hibiscus, mango, baobob), the coffee strong and tasty. The rooms are comfortable and charming. The location is great -- within walking distance of great restaurants (Oumar knows all of them!) and other gems of Saint-Louis. The bottom floor is a great working space, music and bookshop, and turns into a fun music venue on Saturday nights (though the music stops before bedtime, which was also super respectful!).
