Shark Explorers — Attraction in Western Cape

I had the most incredible nine days with Shark Explorer Bahamas - which is an offspring of the original Capetown entity.

Sailing through the Bahamas and diving with tiger sharks and hammerhead sharks was an absolute dream come true.

The crew, with their three-headed team, was nothing short of amazing. They not only handled the boat with the utmost professionalism but also made our diving adventures safe and truly unforgettable. Their expertise and dedication to ensuring we had the best experience possible were evident throughout the trip.

Speaking of the boat, it was in top-notch condition, and despite its size, it offered all the amenities one could ask for. Comfort and convenience were never compromised, and I felt completely at home on board.

And let's not forget the food – it was absolutely terrific! Every meal was a delightful treat, and I looked forward to each culinary creation after a day of thrilling dives.

An absolute must for thrill seekers and marine life lovers when visiting Cape Town. My husband and I LOVED this experience and our time with Shark Explorers/African Eagle. From the moment I booked until we got dropped off everything was seamless and enjoyable. Warren who picked us up and dropped us off from our accommodations was so sweet and even gave us so much local information during the drive (his family is the coolest!). The staff was simply the best, ensuring we had a wonderful time, at ease & comfortable, well fed & hydrated, and super informed about sharks and safety. We had a great experience with Shark Explorers in Simons Town. It was a short drive from Cape Town (45 mins) and well-worth it! It took approx. 30 mins to drive the boat out, we had 2 groups in the cages for 20 mins each, and returned in just over 2 hours. As a bonus, our captain also tracked a pack of dolphins on the way home—which may have been a highlight for me! I was super hesitant to shark dive, but the cage experience was totally controlled and very cool. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!!

Bonus tip- we went to Boulders Beach right after to see the penguins (slightly underwhelming, but still a must-do). Totally doable in 20-30 mins, keeping the whole experience in Simons Town only a half...
