An absolutely unexpected wonderful surprise ! I had the fish of the day along with mashed potatoes deep fried in a lite batter , freshly cooked vegetables all in a deliciously lite cream sauce. The local wine, a full bodied Shiraz, was perfect for the occasion. My partner had the bouillabaisse which was a mixture of French and Indian influences. Again t’en out of ten !! Absolutely gorgeous. The staff were warm, welcoming and really friendly. We asked for a few changes which were taken in hand with enthusiasm and implemented without any problems whatsoever. The chef, Phillipe, came to ask if we had enjoyed the meal. He was genuinely interested in any comments or criticisms we may have had … we had nothing but compliments. It’s a evening I will remember both for it’s culinary excellence and the total dining experience. Thanks guys … truly appreciated

The service was not kind. And they asked us to give them tips even their service was unkind. We ordered one ‘peri-peri chicken’ and one ‘super rump steak’. But they gave us 2 super rump steak and those were even different kind of meat. And when we asked them to change the food, they kept blaming on us and said ‘we can change to the menu you want, but it will take lots of time to cook the new dish’ We just had the thing they gave us cuz we were so hungry and didn’t have much time. And when we went to pay, they charged us the 2 steak price, rather than the chicken and steak price.(we told them this is not right, so they changed at the end.) It was not pleasant. And the food was not great either. (We said the fries are the best among these foods, salad was not fresh, the meat was tough to chew, mine was medium well-done) The vibes were great and the interior was cute and lovely, but we won’t go there again.

This little restaurant in the heart of simon’s town was one of the best experiences ever ! we had our anniversary dinner at the lighthouse cafe after locals highly recommended it and it beat all our expectations! what a super nice and warm manager/owner he made us feel so welcome and chatted to us about the food and restaurant and asked a bit about ourselves - this place truly feels like home 🥰 such a lovely atmosphere ! the food was beyond amazing, I had the yellowtail fish with roasted veg and mashed patatoe and my boyfriend had probably the best alfredo we’ve both tasted ! would HIGHLY recommend the light house cafe 🤍🤍 thank you so much !!

We stumbled, by chance, apon this delightful restaurant in Simonstown. The venue is 'fresh', bright and filled with natural light. We were welcomed by Luci our waitress. The chef visited our table for feedback. The service was prompt and friendly. My meal of Eland fillet done in red wine was excellent! My partner had, what he claimed, the best pork belly ever. The crackling apparently cracked like glass - huge smile. We'll definitely be back for more of the chefs venison specialties. Thankyou for a most pleasant surprise. (We have just had our 2nd visit to this delightful eatery. As before, pleased we did.)

The Lighthouse Cafe used to be one of our favourites in Simonstown, but we were very disappointed today. The Fish & Chips was more batter than fish and the Veggie Burger was dry and tasteless. Why restaurants think it is in order to present a dry hamburger bun is beyond me. In addition the salad leaves (lettuce, mint & basil) on both plates looked like it was previously used on other plates. Very sad and wilted. We did point it out to the waiter, but no apology or explanation was offered. The coffee was great, but sadly not good enough to warrant a revisit.

We loved this restuarant! The atmosphere, the food, the service, the music....everything was just perfect. We did not have a booking and were very pleased that they could accommodate us. The staff were very friendly and as the kitchen is in full view of the tables, you could see that the staff and owner were very friendly and amicable with each other. We had grilled fish and calamari and it was delicious. The cappacino was very good and the cheesecake was creamy and well made. This restuarant is definitely a light house in Simons Town!
