Came for a few days, staying a month! Views are spectacular. Hosts, Ros & Paul a delight, beautiful setting, easy walking distance to Long Beach which has very flat, safe, harbour wall-protected water & is perfect to swim in all-year round. You have restaurants a short stroll away. A lot of small lanes, private streets & stairs to discover so plenty of stunning old buildings & safe walks. Shops, gift boutiques & pretty much anything you need for a week or a month. Your lounge & bedroom windows over-look the yacht basin & naval harbour. You can hear the Ocean & Seagulls. The wind, when it blows, is cooling. This is a very chilled, quiet, private environment for any single person or couple. The pricing for Simon's Town is OUTSTANDING & I highly recommend you stay here. I was disappointed to see a couple of negative reviews above until i realised Harbour House shares its name with a very average restaurant & small shopping mall some way away! Went for dinner with my fiancée and her parents.
Three of us ordered calamari (as they come highly recommended). 1 fried starter & 2 grilled mains.
When one of the grilled mains came out the same size as the starter we raised our concern to our waiter who got defensive and proceeded to tell us that the small portion of calamari on the plate was a main.. Which, when compared to the other calamari main - was a lot smaller.
At the end of the day we didn't end up paying for the one calamari main. However for the quality service you're expecting, when paying prices catered for the European market (If you're from SA, I don't recommend. If you're from Europe, there are other places in the water front that offers better quality sea food for the same price).

Waited nearly 30 minutes just for 1 Large Chips. R45. It's just a chopped, fried potato. Really no need to wait so long.
Only after enquerying about the order and trying to speed things up did it arrive. No apologies from the staff. On top of it they gave us a medium portion and not a large portion...
