Seriously? I do not understand others great reviews about "Saveur", word that stands in French for Flavour and Taste... Perhaps the owners, Rob & Patrick need to review their Chef's cooking... But let's start positively, relatively nice setting, views of the harbor and sea, the staff is welcoming and pleasant. We ordered the Asiette and Catch of the day. Now the Asiette's Cob was nicely executed so as the fish cakes, but the Lemongrass butter was not at all what it should be, it was tasteless, weak in its texture, this was very disappointing as I have personally made this myself and it should be really buttery in its texture with strong flavors. The Calamari strips were tasteless so as the prawns which came in a pair, sorry but I think that a few more should be served for the cost of that dish, but this is my personal opinion. My wife's Cob was really nice too, the salsa was tasteless like it came out of a cheap supermarket ready mix, but the worst was the roasted veggies which were not cooked properly, especially the carrots which were not even cooked, like raw, we pointed out it to the manager and I asked them to be replaced, it didn't happen, I asked later why and was told it must have been a misunderstanding as they were going to discount it from the bill!!! Told them, I was not interested in the discount but properly cooked carrots... Anyway, we were done, so they offered us dessert, but I was not interested. Ordered coffees which were great, R 700 later... Saveur was a very bad experience...A Local/International...

Talking about Bullying. Wow. Maybe that is what you are doing to us as senior citizens. We are God fearing people who stand up for what is right. Your staff don't have respect and whoever the woman was who came to apologize wasn't convincing. You should be ashamed of yourselves and ensure that next time you respect customers and maybe you would have more coming there. That hair that was on our omelette it makes me nauseous thinking about it. GOODBYE My wife and I retired senior citizens decided to have breakfast at this restaurant. Had to ask waiter to clean the table as he had placed the menus on the dirty table. We ordered a flat white and a cappuccino. Both looked the same and tasted the same. The waiter had spilt coffee onto the saucer and said he would get a serviette to clean it up. We waited and I had to remind him his response was he forgot to bring the serviette. We ordered two omelettes and I found a hair on my omelette should have taken a photo. I returned it to the waiter and refused to pay for the food. Fortunately we never ate any of the food. I wanted to pay for the two coffees but at that point not sure who the lady was who spoke to us if she was a manager. She said it was on the house and we walked out. Very disappointing and will not go...

Unfortunately I had the worst experience ever, when my family and I arrived we were shown to our seats and ordered our drinks. During that time the restaurant wasn't as full, so there were some empty tables. We received our drinks and ordered our food, that's where the problem started.. My brother was first told that the Ribs he ordered wasn't soft enough and was asked to order something else (No problem, he did)

More people began coming in and things got worse, there were two families and a young couple that came after us that recieved their meals before us, paid and left. Whilst we sat there unattended wondering what was going on. We had to complain first to the waiter asking what was the wait all about (of which he just mumbled the response to our questions), we then called for the Manager, that's when our food reached our table. But even then, none of us enjoyed our food. I had ordered a Bacon and Chicken Mayo Tramazzini , some of the pieces had melted cheese some did, some had chicken some didn't, there was almost no seasoning and their chips were mushy.

We paid R2200 for that was cold and placed on...

Quiet space. Small portions for high prices. Good staff service and view. When? Best to dine here late in the afternoon to catch warm sun and feel the sea breeze. Food: High variety of seafood and meats offered. No signature dish though. They do have a Catch of the Day. Seafood was flavourless. The portions were tiny. Only 2 prawns given on a platter for 2. A platter? We ordered halloumi fries as a starter and got 3 small index finger size strips. Prawns undercooked. Fish flavourless. Calamari unremarkable. Muscles were good. Service: Good service. Friendly staff. Frequent the table with top ups and clearing plates. Atmosphere: Quiet. Fairly tranquil. Not busy. Cutlery: Good utensils. Good steak knives offered, but I noticed serviettes were unbranded. For French named restaurant charging above €15 per dish with an assortment of wine pairings, one would think branded serviettes would accompany your place settings. It hints at cost cutting rather than elegant dining along the pier. Lunch for 2 costed €100 without dessert.

This was the best place I had eaten since visiting CapeTown. A group of us went there for lunch, and everyone was delighted with their food. We ordered two specials (kudu loin and kingclip) Ahi tuna tartare, oysters, the prawns and the halloumi burger. The tuna tartare with avocado and sesame oil surprised me it was so good. The oysters were so fat and thick that we barely finished 6 of them. The halloumi burger was described as “the best meal I’ve had…I will dream about that burger” by our vegetarian of the group. The kingklip special was flavorful and spicy. The kudu loin was tender and served with polenta cakes that were mind blowing (truffle with cheese and the right amount of salt). I wanted more polenta cakes, but overall the dish was top notch. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. He immediately had wine pairing suggestions for each of our dishes as soon as we asked…and they were spot on. Highly recommend!

What a magical evening. Thank you! Spending New Years Day at Saveur was a highlight. Not only did we have that gorgeous sunset view overlooking the harbor but some of the yummiest food I've had in Cape Town recently. We started with the ridiculously fresh oysters, which were excellent and then I moved onto the Cajun chicken burger. I still can't keep my mind off that goat cheese mousse. The combination, while surprising, was just so inventive and I'm 100% returning just for that. My friend had the chicken salad with your miso dressing, which was delicious. We finished the evening with the Sticky date pudding and I'm sorry I offered to share. Again, that's another reason I'll be returning to the Deep South. Such friendly, efficient service, gorgeous view, inventive menu - what a find! Thanks all for a delightful start to the new year.
