Ojstrica is a mountain in the eastern part of the Kamnik Alps with a pyramid-shaped top that is visible from far away. The name Ojstrica derives from the Slovene word oster 'sharp'. There is a 600-meter high wall on its northern side to the bottom of the Logar Valley.

Well worth the early 5am wake up to get here and await the magical sunrise. Park your car at the nearby campground and then do the relatively easy 15 minute hike up. While it's not the biggest space up there, there were plenty of scenic views to go around. Just be mindful of your fellow nature lover and don't be obnoxious with your loud talking. We get it, life is hard but keep it calm and peaceful when you're around others during this tranquil time of reflection. Also, not a flex but I noticed I was the only idiot not fully dressed in proper gear. To those who may not have packed hiking boots or closed toe shoes, I made it up in my birks with no issues at all. Just be careful not to roll your ankles given the loose rocks and incline you're facing as you hike up. Bring a headlamp or use your phone's flashlight as it was quite dark at that time of the morning. We came up on a Tuesday morning.

765m high hill, worth every sweat. Lemme give you a million dollar advice on how to get to this amazing view. In Google maps enter Klopca Ljubezni Bled (Bench of Love Bled). Follow directions precisely! Do not get scared when you see a blocked road, it's not a dead end. Once google maps says : You reached your destination, you will be about to punch you in the face coz you will see sh*t, absolutely nothing close to the view you expected! At that point don't panic that you wasted 1 liter of your sweat and 40mins of hard walk. You will see a cross like you see on my picture. At that point make a right turn, walk 50meters and then turn left down the hill. In 50meters you will see that amazing view and bench of love. You can propose your girlfriend here, she can't say no at such amazing view. Have fun there and enjoy the view, it's amazing! 😊

Getting to Ojstrica requires a hike, which is relatively short but can be steep in some sections. The trailhead starts near the Zaka parking lot or Bled Camping, and the hike typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes to reach the top. The trail is well-marked, and the journey itself is a pleasant walk through lush forests. Once you reach the top of Ojstrica, you're rewarded with one of the most stunning views of Lake Bled. From this vantage point, you can see the entire lake, the island with the Church of the Assumption of Mary, and Bled Castle perched on the hill. The surrounding mountains create a picturesque backdrop, making it a perfect spot for photography. The viewpoint is relatively small, so it can get crowded during peak tourist season. However, the view is so spectacular that it's worth the effort to get there.

Not a hike for the faint hearted, the vast majority of this is uphill on muddy paths with lots of loose stones so can be slippery (even more so on the hike back down). Includes some steep rocks towards the end, but luckily there’s a metal cable to help (which admittedly I held on to for dear life). Definitely need good walking shoes and a decent level of fitness, takes about 20-30 mins to hike each way. Granted I have ZERO fitness and still managed to somehow do it despite contemplating quitting multiple times. But once at the top, wow wow wow! What a view! Made all the pain/fear of falling worth it. We went late afternoon, it rained on and off for a bit, only a few other people passed us and we managed to have the viewpoint to ourselves for about 10 minutes.

Stunning views of the lake with a love bench. We just went there yesterday and it was not crowded as it's a very small place. In summer, I think it would get crazy crowded, so keep some time. Last 50 meters is difficult but doable even for a person like me who never did any hiking... I was with me pre teen daughter and wife who could also do it. If needed you can sit and cross last 50 meters but it's not worth missing. Lots of lose stones on the way up so must wear some good shoes. But once you reach the top you will forget the hard work you did. There is a difficult stretch also on the left which gives you another view. You can miss that if you are doing this... view is nearly same I heard.

We were going to hike the Mala Ojstrica trail but decided to do this one instead. Honestly I don't think either of us were prepared for the steep hike but it was well worth it!! This trail takes a much shorter time than the mala ojstrica one but the view was still breathtaking. Up at the top you get to see all of Lake Bled! There a bench where you can sit to admire the beauty. Just wear sneakers since the trail has a lot of rocks and places where it's pretty steep to climb up/down.
