Recreational tourist center Kranjska Gora ski lifts — Attraction in Kranjska Gora

When going to the Slovene skiing resort I expected it to be quite bad, but not SO bad. I have been to different skiing resorts in Ukraine and Europe and they were much better than this one. Firstly, I’d like to say that the nature there is beautiful, however, I cannot even imagine how did owners and staff of the ski resort manage to make it this bad.

1. The main problem was connected to the slopes. It feels that people here don’t know what a snowcat is, the slopes are very uneven and quite dangerous to ride even in the morning (10-12 am).
2. Some chairlifts were closed which is quite fool considering the fact that it’s a high season.
3. There were almost no cafes, where you can rest, on the top or in the middle of the slopes. The only one that I saw was small, full of people, and unpleasant to even enter. On the bottom of the slopes, all the cafes and restaurants were also full of people.
4. People here don’t know what are skis stands, you simply stick your skis in the snow and go where you need to, however, it wasn’t that big problem considering the fact that there are no cafes on the slopes.
5. Number of people. I know it is quite a common problem that also occurs in many good ski resorts during the high season, however, it is still a disadvantage, as there are some resorts without this kind of problem. They should have made much more slopes, with this potential, perfect location, nature, and weather conditions (the amount of snow here is enormous). The prices here are low, but so are the experiences that you could get. In my opinion, it is better to go to Austria or Italy, only an hour from here, where people maintain slopes much better, and pay a bit more, but have a much much better skiing experience than the one you...

Small ski resort perfect for a family holidays.

We couldn't have hoped for any better ski resort to have our first family ski experience. I believe this ski resort is in particular best for beginners mainly as those looking for intermediate and advanced slopes will have limited choice. We have chosen this ski resort to start learning to ski as family due to (1) being affordable (2) having good ski schools with good english speaking instructors (3) having good beginner slopes (4) having snow artificial guarantee (5) very nice Alpine mountain views and village. The ski resort has met and exceeded our expectations and we have all learn a big deal and we finally also did ski the most demanding beginner slopes! It was an unforgettable experience!

The only negative thing maybe is that I would probably avoid visiting on Saturdays if you have the option as it can get busy in the morning with several ski school kids attending their lesson.
