Ripoff parking (6€, cash only) deducting unnecessarily huge amounts from both my bankaccount and my account of good mood. You should come with some time and try to avoid this parking, some people here have tricks how to do that (e.g. parking in the village) but I don't know if they work out. Compared to usual prices in Slovenia this site is ridiculously expensive.
Detailed version, with some spicy anger
absolutely overpriced. You pay 6€ to park your car to visit the caves which are already pretty pricey. If you've booked a package, note that you'll pay another 5€ for parking at Predjama Castle. This is already 11€ just for parking for two sights that cost together already 40€ entrance fee probably the worst: it is not possible to pay with card at their ticket machines, you have to walk all the way up to postojna ticket office if you miss paying up there the people working at the parking apparently don't know what they're doing. I got charged the camper price of 12€ for my oldtimer VW van which has never ever happened before. Anywhere. I tried to solve the problem at the ticket office and explain the size of the car but the woman just wanted to send me to another desk where I could discuss again. Since I was in a hurry to see everything I gave up in the end without getting my money back. Cool, so even the customer service sucks for the money. the path to the entrance of the cave is still quiet long (10-15mins depending from your speed) and sometimes crowded. Keep that in mind when planning your trip to be on time for your train! Otherwise you need to pay 2€ per ticket to change departure time.
It's kinda ridiculous you can book everything online and walk around with a QR code on your phone as entrance ticket to 4 different sites but the stupid parking is always fully analog at all the sites! I just came from Croatia and there they do things much better. Park everywhere with an app for much fairer prices. In the middle of touristy gorgeous towns at the seaside! Postojna just feels like a tourist ripoff machine. My impression of Slovenia was definitely better before this visit.
This parking can't get more than 1 Star in my opinion. Just because it's like this elsewhere as well doesn't make it right. Keep your standards up guys! Hide your car somewhere or use other means of transport, save your money and buy some great honey from a Slovenian farmer instead (cash only I guess but in this case very fine :))
Thx for nothing,...
Read moreHuge and spacious parking lot for visitors of the cave. You receive a ticket at the entrance, and you'll have to pay for the parking either at the parkomat (which accepts cash only) or at the ticket office (where you can pay by card, too). You can park all day for 6 EUR (fixed tariff). Make sure you arrive in time if you have bought your ticket for the cave in advance because it is a 10-15 minutes walk from the lower parking zones to the entrance of the cave, and getting in the parking lot and walking to the entrance may be slower on busy days simply because there are a...
Nein, echt...
