Magdalena Food & Fun — Restaurant in Postojna

Dirty tables. Unprofessional staff; it wasn’t busy when we were there, the staff was mostly just joking around, not paying much attention to the guests and clearly does not have a clue about what working in hospitality means Very mediocre food; potato wedges were good, the noodles were the most tasteless I’d ever had. As if some beginners were playing around in the kitchen. The space itself looks nice and it’s a pity the looks are not matched with the service.

Addition post owner’s reply: Thank you very much for your reply. However I unfortunately can’t agree with your thoughts on the possible causes for the situation. As mentioned above, the restaurant was not busy at all. Only around 30% of the tables were taken. Most of the time at least two, but usually 3 or 4 waiters were just chatting, joking around and entertaining themselves. While they were having fun doing nothing, I was looking for a high chair, which no one managed to offer. I located it myself, cleaned it myself and brought it across the restaurant to where I was seated. It was all observed by your group of waiters and none of them offered any help at any point in time. Unbelievable behavior from the waiter, unacceptable.

Edit : Contrarily to what the restaurant pretends in the answer, we had indeed ordered some beverages to one of the waiters, who invited us to sit anywhere. 5 to 10 minutes later (which is quite a long time to prepare two hot chocolates by the way), another waiter came and asked us what we needed. In order not to disrupt their organization, we told him that we had already ordered with one of his colleagues. Then this waiter came back, and instead of apologizing for losing our order and wasting our time, he basically called us liars and told us in a very aggressive manner : « as i told you, you haven’t ordered anything, so what do you want ? », thus implying we were not even able to remember whether we had ordered anything. Since I do not accept to be treated this way and we had a bus to catch, we just informed the waiter that we would leave. That is some very poor service.

Do not call your clients liars, especially when you are not even organized enough to handle a two hot...

All the orders got wrong, we sent back one but the others didn't have the energy to protest. Vegan burger was not the black bun one so a disappointment. No way to change the "combo" option unfortunately which we would have liked and even paid extra for. The personnel was nice but didn't get our order right and changed at every interaction. Just played stereotypical 80's pop and powerballads which grew tiredsome quickly. The decor with the hint of the caves was nice but some decorations was just out of place. Most expensive meal on our trip and it just was not worth it. Could've gone to any fast food place for this meal....
