The vibe in this part of Johannesburg on a Sunday afternoon is really awesome! I do feel though that there is a reluctance to improve basic aspects such as proper and adequate seating in the market under the guise of being true to the rustic and hippie nature of the place. Food options in the market are pretty interesting and decently priced - usually about R70 per serving. The bar on the roof top is always very poorly stocked so don't expect fancy options. R44 will buy you a single shot plus a chaser in a plastic tumbler with ice. After 4pm the place gets really packed with a lot of very experienced and skilled dancers. A lot of the people are regulars and know each other from their respective dance clubs already. Incredibly friendly people all around... but don't mistake the friendliness and someone asking you to dance for flirting. It is also not a great idea to go as a couple if only one of you is a dancer and the one who isn't a dancer does not understand what is really going on there... rather both attend dance class first which is less of a culture shock in terms of personal space invasion. You will quickly realize that the selection of dance partners here has nothing to do with skin colour, age or gender. Naturally, men are predominantly paired with women but because of a lack of enough dancing men to go around, women tend to pair up on the dance floor as well. There are some craft shops as well that might pique your interest - take a...

Go to www.Joztriangel.co.za- this is where it all grew big from the tourism perspective, once upon a time joburg was this no go zone Area that alot of people wouldn't want to be found spending time in, when Jeppes town was still a very sketchy place with no hope for revival; it started off a history lover and an individual who loved walking and accumulating knowledge as a kid, im an inborn multiple Talented as a kid all my Talents Manifested at a full alarming range I still keep my gifts tucked inside my chest and both with mind synchronized: im ambidextrous draw with both hands since the age of 5, Powerful vocalist, a writer on all levels of Story telling, poet, freestyle for an hour or more with Random words thrown at me, Photographer, Dancer, Street artist, Digital Street Artist 3D or 2D.

Over 12 years or so I've been riding on Arts and cultural tours transforming tourism into a modern trance experience in the state of Mind, a tour with me is like re walking the Galaxies of self, I offer alot of my Art works on tour, im a Mobile...

Arts on Main(building)hosts the famous Sunday Market on main, which is a food and design market. It usually starts at 10am till 3pm. Its held in the Arts on main parking lot where you will be met by irresistible aromas from the food prepared by different stalls downstairs. Great selection! Upstairs is the bar area and loads of shopping, from fashion items to souvenirs.

Downstairs the main entrance side of the building (Fox Street) are resident stores at Arts on Main namely,Hello Africa Marketplace. VintiQueen Vintage Store, Interfool,David Krut Bookstore,Herbert Evans,Canteen restaurant....All offering a uniqueness to this amazing space. Worth checking out.

Around 2pm exciting sounds of Cuban music can be heard from the courtyard area, coming from the rooftop salsa above Canteen restaurant. Its fun to go up even if its only yo watch or be envious. This goes on until early evening besides there is a bar up there and a fun crowd without fail.

BRING YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR SUNDAY MAGIC IN THE CITY!!! BEST...

I saw the reviews on Google so the moment I landed in Johannesburg it was one of the first places I wanted to see. I probably got there too early around 9:30am but still shouldn’t be an excuse. There was nothing really to write home about. Almost no arts stuff to see. It was almost dry. Definitely wasn’t worth the penny. I really regretted visiting this place.

Very cool building but unfortunately nothing actually going on. Came here on a Sunday midday - which is in theory prime time - but all studios were shuttered (many with “for sale” signs), and there’s nothing else to see. The restaurant in the courtyard was open but empty. Fox Street itself was quite lively though.
