I got to live out my 2k groove fantasies here - great party vibe amongst young people who know how to have a good time. The place is understaffed and the service is extremely poor. The food is heavily overpriced and the menu was generally underwhelming. The true reason for my 1 star rating though is the sanitary situation: the ladies bathrooms are shocking and require urgent attention. NO DISPOSABLE BINS??? There is one toilet available for the general admission area (insane queues all night) and multiple toilets for the "VIP" area - neither are cleaned and serviced regularly enough through the evening to ensure basic boxes are ticked, like having flushing toilets or toilet paper available or soap for handwashing. I don't believe there was even water to flush in the "VIP" area bathrooms and no alternatives were made available🤦🏾‍♀️I hate to write bad reviews, but hope that the owners and management see this as feedback to improve for better customer experience (judging by historical reviews, my disappointing bathroom experience is not unique nor is it new). The location is great, but having customers feel like their health and safety are not cared for (no matter how young or carefree you may think they are) is not good for business. A lot of work has gone into making Maboneng a world-class tourist attraction and access to decent sanitation in establishments is a basic human need that must always be met as first & top priority.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is looking for a special restaurant experience. Worst place. I joined a group of friends on 20 Aug and the welcome at the door was horrible. You are bodly searched the kind you would expect if entering prison. Your bag, they go through every item. The experience leaves you feeling very violated, such invasion of privacy. You end up wondering if maybe you are entering a dangerous club/restaurant in Hillbrow. I never saw the waiter with my eyes yet Iater heard that they had apparently charged an advance R200 'tip'. The waiter was probably outside joining the throng of waiter who harass you all the way in the streets. They charge an overpriced amount of R800 per platter and then collect R10 from you for asking to charge a phone with your cable 🙄. I think Vilakazi Street and it's restaurants are the best bet when you really want a nice tourist feel treat in Joburg. The street photographers do take beautiful pictures though.

Well this rooftop is ok, definitely for me, there were better attractions in checking out the views of Johannesburg skyline from a different perspective than the pub itself Gotta mention I've visited there during the late afternoon to early evening hours during the weekday; perhaps this place gets better overnight and on the weekends. Since parting wasn't any of my intentions, my wife and I just enjoyed a couple of drinks there before calling out the night off; the music was too loud, and the equipment felt very old with heavy signs of wear. It needed a more modern look. The price was ok, although a bit higher than expected Just be aware, the area isn't the safest though; keep a low profile and respect everyone, be a good tourist

So yesterday I came there for lunch with my Son. And my experience was rather bad . It's not the first time I come there been there several times and had an amazing time. But somehow yesterday was very bad. From the service food taking almost 45min to be ready.

So I ordered your 300G sirloin made it loud and clear that it should be medium rare. I'm having throat problems so I can't swallow proper 😕.

My son had his favorite meal there chicken pasta.

So our waiter Thabo after he took our order he came back to explain that the pasta will take 15min to prepare which was ok then.

To my surprise our food took almost 45min to arrive. When it did finally arrived my plate had my beef which was very well done not even chewable I almost vomited because of my condition (achalasia) I made it very clear to how my meat should be.

My waiter was busy with another table so I asked one of the guys to assist. He took the pic of the food and 2min later he fetched my plate. And said they will prepare another one. From being hungry and waited for my I had to again wait for another meal to be prepared by then I was already annoyed and asked ( Thabo ) what happened because I told him how my meat should be prepared. He apologized and said he told them at the kitchen.

So when again this food was still not back I advised him to rather make it a take away mind you my son was done with his pasta while I did not even have my meal .

So I requested a bill ! So what were ordered was My sirloin 300G Chicken pasta X1 can of Sprite X2 glasses of strawberry daquare

Which my Bill came to R 604.00 But Total was R704.00???which is what I got charged for in my mind I was Like maybe it included 10% tip 🤔 but even so 10% of R704 is not a R100 ??? So basically I was overcharged without explanation.

Is this new?? As I said I have been there before and When Mashobane introduced me to the place It was love at first sight. But yesterday's experience left me rather disappointed and angry.

To my surprise when I got home in my take away box the meat was there and dry chips only. No sauces, no salt , and definitely no salad the food was so dry and not appealing as it was served earlier.Almost like the person who prepared was irritated

I'm honestly disappointed in this treatment I received and if it was packed I would have understood but it was definitely not and this very unpleasant especially...
