Beautiful park, also quite a few security patrolling on foot. I went in the late afternoon on a Tuesday (around 5pm), so there were a few guys playing soccer on the fields which made me feel safe (compared to if it was quiet).

I do recommend going with someone and trying to go earlier in the day rather.. especially as a woman... especially if you will be exploring further in by the lake/pond or by the playgrounds. I will admit I kept very vigilant the whole time I was there as there were a lot of men passing through the park as a short-cut; but no one bothered me.

There's a parking area close to the soccer fields. Most of the security chills there, so it feels very safe that side.

The park was quite clean and well-kept. The ducks are people-friendly and quite beautiful to see them fly in and out of the water. Very beautiful trees with various shades of orange, browns and greens in this autumn weather. Got lovely...

Rhodes Park needs a HUGE clean up everywhere...slots are filled with leaves and rubble. That debilitated restaurant building is home to vagrants. Filthy. School kids drinking and smoking dagga. The Koi pond is FILTHY dirty. Vagrants bathing and washing dirty clothes. Swimming pool opens next month. Then what?......Tennis court area wall has fallen down onto path to kids top play area. Traffic scholar learning area so neglected...No ablutions for picnic goers. I grew up in that park. Am in my late sixties now. This park needs to be saved and brought back to her former glory. We also need to urgently see to the water logged areas. VERY URGENT.... Dogs...

The most important thing I loved about this park was that it was clean and the location or rather surrounding seemed to be quite safe and as well had parking to park your car if you arrived with a vehicle. Furthermore, the park had some interesting features like the dam, waterfall and also the lovely tress as expected and had functional toilets although some of the "braai stands/braai areas" we vandalized. however in overall I would say the place is a great place to spend a day at considering some other parks I would recommend it to the...

The lake & trees are exquisite, the ducks are cute & fun to watch. If you're going to feed them take seed or peas. (Bread is bad for them, clogs their systems & is not nutritious) people can get noisy, but ignore or report them. There was no litter when I went on 23/8/2020 and security guards about. Pleasant experience. Someone cares & it shows!
