沿著桂山聖堂旁的小路走，兩處古宅在高樓林立之下，顯得特別醒目。 分別是李相和及徐相敦古宅。 根據韓國觀光公社的資料： 抗日文學家詩人李相和自1939年起到1943年過世前居住的地方。為了民族光復打著抗日精神火炬的詩人李相和，此處留下了他的詩香。 大邱市重新整修了佔地面積205m²、建築面積64.5m²(單層木造建築2棟)的古宅，用古宅保存市民運動本部募集的基金在古宅內部設置了展示品。李相和古宅經歷了漫長的日帝強佔期，除了緬懷抗日民族詩人李相和的精神外，還活用教育後代李相和先生的憂國精神與文學成就。 徐相敦是朝鮮末期的企業家兼官員，也是民族獨立運動家。在大邱地區因經營紙張與布而成功，並成為政府檢稅官管理租稅局。1907年因思考政府對日債務高漲、國權喪失，與大邱廣文社社長金光濟一同展開以禁菸償還國債的國債報償運動。大邱市復原雞山洞李相和古宅旁的徐相敦生家，並建造國債報償公園、豎立銅像等，緬懷其崇高的情操。 其實韓國跟臺灣一樣，也有日據時期，透過這些資料跟尋訪，也能多多了解不同國家的風土民情，從觀光公社的用字看來，對日本還是有著強烈的對立感，這也顯示出韓國強悍的民族性及對自我國族的認同感，蠻有趣的！
