Anyonghashimnika. Cheonun Dorudpu Imnida. Cheonun Indosaram Ieiyo. The only reason I rate this place a '4', what a legend, is because, I love Insadong most. I can not even rate Insadong. It is so special. The gate I am not sure off. I don't know much about Korean History, except they say, the Hapkido girls and boys, and fellow Yondei Ohaktang students and clients, past, that a Hindu Princess was the foundation of Korea. I am a Man, but feminine. In English we say, womanly. Onna no yo.
Also, the food is great in the market sitting area on the stool. I eat everything except Beef in my 10 months in Korea, in 2008-9, when my team, Maccresta U won the Champions League of Moscow. What different times. Only 6 years, since Ahn Juhn Hwang and the Dehanminmung War Effort, of World Cup Korea-Japan itsumo 2002.
My favourite Korean player is Park Ji Sung, who has been here I know :). He will not know, Sinchon, and Insadong like me. I am Seouru-saram. Once, I have been to Seorak san, after eating Toppoki, Mandu, at night, in market, and also, the soup of the ages. They just give. In India, like Golgappa juice. I go with Ma, some friends, two, and three times. Close is, is the Textile...

A worthwhile visit if you are looking for fresh ginseng. This local market is located 3 subway stops from Dongdaemun and relatively easy to locate. You wil pass the medicine market before crossing to the Gyeongdong Market. This huge market is sectioned into dried goods e.g dates, nuts, dried seafood e.g shrimps fish seaweed; fresh fruits and fresh ginseng. I went specifically for fresh ginseng and found them at very reasonable pricing. I bought those at 10k won for 300g and they are really good quality. The sellers I met are both friendly and helpful. This is a local market so be mindful little English is used. Cash transactions only....
Read moreSeoul has such a robust market scene that I made a mistake when I told an Uber driver where to go when my husband and I needed a ride from Itaewon. I had thought this market was the more renowned Gwangjang Market with all the bustling food stalls selling signature dishes like knife-cut noodles and mung bean pancakes. It wasn’t until we were half an hour in the labyrinth market that we realized we were actually in Gyeongdong Market which contains over a thousand shops and stalls dedicated to herbal medicines and ginseng. Deep within the Dongdaemun-gu neighborhood east of Gwangjang, there are also vendors that sell dried seafood, produce, and local culinary specialties. While it was truly happenstance that we were here, we found Gyeongdong a fascinating place and one not many foreigners visit. That has a definite...
