This museum is NOT TO BE MISSED! We absolutely loved it. Small yet charming, three wonderful rooms of delightful history of straw and the part it has played in Korean life through the ages. At the end you can try on some straw accessories and take a photo with the rice crops they grow onsite (that will eventually become straw crafts). We happened to be the only people there for our entire visit which made it extra special. We spent about...

짚과 풀로 만든 민속자료를 수집, 연구하여 전시하는 세계 유일의 짚·풀 전문박물관으로 1993년 3월 25일 개관하였다. 짚신·망태기·멍석·달걀꾸러미·새끼줄 등 보릿짚이나 밀짚으로 만든 생활용품과 공예품에서 죄수의 머리에 씌우던 짚주저리까지 짚·풀 관련 민속자료 3,500여 점을 비롯하여 제기(祭器) 1,000점, 한옥문 200세트, 세계 각국의 팽이 500여 점, 슬라이드 25,000여 점을 소장하고 있다.
