Cova d'en Xoroi is a club located in an exceptional location in a cave that is located on the side of a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean sea in the south of the island. The 4 star (and not five) is due to the following:
5 star location. If you are a sunset hunter, this is a spot not to miss since the location is one of the best on the island. If the day is clear you will have a very good opportunity to see the sun set behind the Tramuntana mountain range of Mallorca in the far distance across the sea.
The place is a private venue, high end club/bar. Design is exceptional. Music is a bit loud, but this merely personal.
Entrance was 20€/pax (September 2025) - including 1 basic drink (wine, cava/sparkling wine, beer, soft drinks, water, etc.) Good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including premium brands or cocktails or mocktails paying an extra/difference depending on your order or choice.
Venue will close at 8 or 9 PM shortly after sunset. Unaware if opened longer hours during summer months or weekend nights (check the property should you be willing to spend more time or have the intention of spending the night out there).
Clothing minimum is to be expected. No swimming clothing/ bikinis entrance allowed or beach flip flops and/or tank tops for men. No need to dress up but certainly people will do attend as if they were going to a wedding, so be advised to be turned down if showing up after a day at the beach. Closed shoes preferred for men. I went my niece and we were not dressing up as if we were going to a ball (snickers, shorts and t-shirt/hoodie) and enjoyed the time, but if you are uncomfortable with people being around you dressing up nicely while you are wearing normal clothes, then either don't go or plan your clothing before hand (please don't go after spending the day at the beach and then complain if you are turned down for entry). The venue clearly informs about clothing standards on the entrance. Literally says that it's OK to be on holidays and be relaxed but let's keep certain common sense and minimum clothing attire standard plz.
The venue is certainly a very Instagramable place, hence you will possibly see a lot of IG wannabes. This is not necessarily a bad thing if you don't care about this nonsense - the setting and the venue is certainly worthy if you are a person comfortable with yourself regardless of what others do, wear or think of your way of life. (Hence my three stars - neutral - about the atmosphere section of this rating since I believe this is a very personal opinion and depends greatly on what type of venues you may like to attend or hang around at).
Staff is friendly and professional, but a bit serious in my opinion, not necessarily a bad thing either. They will treat you professionally no matter what and they will take the time to explain drinks' conditions and help you with any questions you may have.
We went on Tuesday evening and the place wasn't packed, nor empty either. Higher volumes to be expected during July/August months and weekends.
The venue has difference terraces on different levels where you can watch the sunset. Arrive early if you want to save a spot on the fences overlooking the sea.
Place is extremely clean, respect the area and the environment and be respectful of not throwing garbage to the sea, as well as to keep things civil and respectful of others. Smoking is not allowed on the whole property, even on the open spaces/terraces (but as always, it is advisable not to smoke for your wellbeing and also not drink alcoholic beverages at all to enjoy a...
Read moreThere are 2 ways of enjoying this place: 1) you just want to take cool pictures, have a drink and leave immediately after and 2) you pay for a more meaningful experience, that in this case, was a massive disappointment. I paid for a bed in the small top balcony being a "VIP" section as a wedding gift for my husband in our honeymoon, 100% based on the reviews and travel magazine articles. Upon arrival, there was a storm somewhere far at the sea that wouldn't let us see the sun at all. It was not raining on us, but there was very bad weather. Overcast. They offer with this service a bottle of wine or cava (you choose between white, red, cava, etc and they bring whatever bottle they pick for you). I wanted to experience more of a romantic, relaxed experience, but there was people drinking right behind us in the stairs the entire time (2 hours) being loud, and it's impossible to relax. They should clear those steep steps only for safety reasons. Anyway. No sunset, no ambiance, loud people gathering in stairs, disengaged staff, clueless manager and M.I.A. owner. Our "exclusive waiter" was talking to all the other kids hanging out in the stairs, did not pour us wine, basically had no interest in serving us. Impossible to relax. Money-making machine and tourist trap in my opinion, I was lured by the 5-star reviews but this was not our type of place afterall, the atmosphere lacks charm. Views were nice though, hence the 2 stars. I did not go down to see the caves due to disappointment, crowd and overall lack of interest. In this case, the joint was a big let-down. I only recommend if you are very interested in posting a cool pic on social media, which is not my thing. But keep in mind that you might not watch the sunset if out of the blue the weather is bad. I will not go back, obviously they don't care about decent service or repeat...
Read moreDuring a recent visit to Cova d’en Xoroi, I witnessed an incident involving the venue’s security team that left many guests, myself included, feeling deeply uncomfortable. While I understand the need for firm policies in a nightlife setting, the way those policies were enforced in this instance raised serious questions about professionalism, consistency, and possible bias.
At one point in the evening, a guest—who appeared to be part of a larger English-speaking group—was removed from the venue for smoking. What stood out, however, was that others nearby were also smoking without issue, yet no similar action was taken. The manner in which the individual was removed seemed unnecessarily forceful, particularly given the relatively minor nature of the infraction.
What followed outside the venue was even more troubling. Despite the group appearing to leave calmly—hands visible and making verbal attempts to defuse the situation—multiple security staff pursued them. From a distance, it appeared that the guards escalated things by shoving, punching, and eventually pepper spraying two members of the group at very close range. From what I could see, there was no clear threat or provocation that would justify that level of force.
What’s most concerning is that this didn’t seem like an isolated overreaction. It felt targeted—and others I spoke with throughout the night shared similar impressions. A pattern of disproportionately aggressive behavior toward English guests seems to be reflected in several online reviews as well.
As someone who’s enjoyed nightlife across many destinations, I found the environment here unusually hostile, not protective. If you’re traveling from the UK or anywhere else, I’d advise approaching this venue with caution. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected while on holiday, and unfortunately, that was not...
