We went to Club Menorca and were completely blown away by the views. What better than to sit on a cliff side with a stunning view whilst having drinks, fantastic company and enjoying a gorgeous meal. We had to book our table in advance due to it being fully booked and were really excited.

Sadly the reality is VERY different. We arrived to the restaurant promptly and ended up sitting down in the sweltering waiting area for 15 minutes before anyone came out and acknowledged us. After finally being told our table was ready (we had to find it ourselves) we decided to soak in the views and sit down. The owner then promptly came over and asked what we wanted. At this stage no menus or drinks menus were provided.

We finally ordered a bottle of wine which arrived after 10 minutes with a filthy glass which was promptly replaced. After going through the menu we ordered our food and sat back.

Food. Kids Pizza which wasnt pizza but Pizza Baguette. Deepfried Whitebait that was seriously underfried. Fish and chips that looked like the fish had come from a supermarket box, 2 people in our party had this and the portions were very different. Tagliatelle pasta that fell apart on your fork as it was so over cooked and was drowning in sauce. And worst of all. Chicken burger that was CLEARLY processed chicken and tasted more of sage and onion stuffing than anything else.

Worst off. The service. Or lack of? One waiter was doing his best to make sure all the tables were happy. The owner / manager was hardly anywhere to be seen!!! When the chef is having to bring out the meals herself? You know there are issues. We sat with our meal plates empty-ish for approx 20 minutes before anyone picked them up. 2.5 hours later afrer arriving we were asked if we wanted dessert menus. After waiting 20 minutes for this, we gave up. The children in our party were tired and fed up and we decided to leave. Nothing was addressed. Nothing was asked. And we were charged an extortionate 95 euro for frankly one of the worst restaurants we've ever been to.

Go for a drink. Soak up the views, its spectacular!!! But don't expect anything else. We left as a table of 12 were just sitting down. I wouldn't be surprised if theyre still waiting for...

Very mixed review about this restaurant. We had a reservation for 19:30 for our 20th wedding anniversary but arrived an hour early as we were extremely hungry. We were told this wasn't a problem and there were only 2 other couples in there.

We proceeded to sit down and 10 minutes later were asked what we would like to drink, It then took another 10 minutes for 4 drinks to arrive while we sat it the burning sun.

After another 20 minutes of waiting my wife actually went up to the staff and asked if we could order our food. Two starters arrived nearly 30 minutes later, 1 mozzarella and saranno ham parcels and 1 plate of calamari. Whilst the parcels were very nice with a small amount of lettuce and balsamic vinegar the calamari was very lacking. I have never had something so tasteless, lightly battered in plain batter with only a quarter of a lemon to squeeze over them, they were rubbery, hard and bland. The only way we managed to eat them was by dipping them into the balsamic vinegar as we were not offered any other dip to accompany them.

Now for the good part, the mains were amazing. Salmon tagliatelle for the wife, thick and creamy with plenty of salmon served piping hot. Mixed meat Paella for myself although you could have fed 3 people with the amount that came out, this was full of flavour with meatballs, Spanish sausage and chicken along with mixed vegetables. I ended up taking what was left home it was so good.

My daughter had a red pepper pasta dish with a cheese topping, once again I was told it was delicious along with my sons tuna pasta Bake. Both dishes were of a similar size and both were finished rather quickly so clearly an enjoyable dish.

Over all the meal was ok but clearly something had gone wrong amongst the staff and that is why we were left unattended for so long, as we started our mains our waiter was replaced with an English waiter (maybe the owner) who couldn't do enough to help us. The view around the bay is amazing and eating on the cliff top really sets the scene.

I would have raised the star rating if it wasn't for the bad time delays in being served and the fact that the Chef of a restaurant by the sea couldn't...

We staid for 3 night and had an overall great experience. The web site mentioned rooms are ongoing renovation. I'm not sure if the room we got was renovated but the decor was clearly fresh. However, the bathroom was clearly old and only had the ceramic painted white. Hope this was just a middle step and it will be renovated later. The shower is very small, hard to wash my hair without opening the door. Also, the bed mattress and sheets are low quality and no mattress cover is used. I feel that just using thick coton sheet would easily give a more luxurious feel to the room. We did try to contact via e-mail a couple of time regarding the reservation and directions and barely got any answer. Only one e-mail over 3 got answered with several days delay. These where written in Spanish and it could be the reason as management barely speak Spanish. The restaurant is great. Food delicious , service on point and view amazing. A little pricy and language seems to be an issue (some only speak Spanish other only english) but is was being worked on and team member were teaching their language to the other. Otherwise, we loved out stay at Club Menorca and we did pay a fare price for what we got. I would recommend to stay at this place and try...

My first visit to Menorca and I’m in Heaven. High up on the cliff’s edge overlooking the bay of Cala en Porter is a beautiful family run bijou hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean, well serviced with a few homely touches. Aircon/fridges and a decent hot shower is always welcome. I’m well travelled being former aircrew and I cannot recommend enough this location. Breathtaking isn’t in it. Its uniqueness by means of views, simplicity and friendliness of Peter and his wonderful family make this a positively beautiful escape. Fabulous roof terrace, carefully chosen ibiza-esque tunes and good food makes this place a great escape as a couple/solo traveller where you fall in love with life a little bit more. Will definitely be back. ❤️ (thanks also for the birthday love extended to my boyfriend. It’s the little things)
