A true ghost town that loses its charm when everything is closed. I went in late January, it was a 21 degree sunny day. I went first to the Roman ruins of Pollentia across the road from the walled town at the main church of Jaume. The woman kept in telling me the 2pm tour is full. I asked to see the site regardless and she sold me the ticket. I was there for an hour and did not see a single person there. There seemed to be no 2pm tour. I took my time looking around but there is not much to see. It is divided into three areas: the residential area of about three houses, the forum and the theatre. There was a lot of space between each part that had been excavated decades ago but covered up again because the land was privately owned. Why they have not excavated it again, I don't know. As I returned to the front gate to leave at 2:30pm, she shouted something at me and then followed me to the gate and locked it as I left and she left herself. I checked Google and it said it is open till 3:30pm. She seemed to be taking an early mark home. Nothing else was open. There was a small museum near the church but the sign on the door said it is closed for January. The churches were closed. The constitution building in the middle of the old town was covered in scaffolding. The streets of the old town looked the same and the tiling on the ground was new. There was no one in the streets, except for this weird man who told me I was beautiful and he wanted to paint me for free. I told him I wasn't and to rack off. The shops were all closed. I thought it was siesta and they would open later. I tried to ask one of the few open shops when they would open again and I was told in summer, which is six months away. Overall, it was an easy ride from Palma on the 302 bus for an hour. The bus was full, so I gather I was the only...
