UTTERLY DISRESPECTFUL CLIENT SERVICE IN MEDIOCRE-AT-BEST MEDIA STORE
Media Markt Stores in general are my go-to Media/Electronics providers. It's literally the first physical location or website I visit when searching for merchandise related to their general offering (even before Amazon), from home appliances, over video games, to me complex stuff, such as was the unpleasant case I experienced just today when searching for an air conditioning solution for my home.
I keep coming back to Media Markt not for no reason, but for their (usually) vast assortment and variety of products, and formerly for their great customer service. Especially, given my past (and probably biased) experience, having grown up in Germany where Media Markt quickly established itself as the deserving market leader for electronics; indeed, they did that good of a job. I don't know about Germany's Media Markt Stores, but here in Spain, Customer Service and assortment variety have both seen much better days (and for many years now).
Today was a Thursday, and my wife and I, with our newborn three-week old went to check out the air conditioning split units and wanted to ask the simple question of how much the installation would cost us. We waited patiently during 45 minutes for four other clients to be attended before us, only to be told that we had to wait for yet a fifth client to be attended, whom I knew to have arrived after us, as I observed them enter the store only 20 minutes earlier. There was no manner to make the clerk understand that we had been there since much earlier than the other client, and the clerk responded spitefully that they had no way to know whose turn was next, other than attending to those who interrupted them while attending to earlier clients. My approach on the other hand, was to make sure we had been seen by the clerk waiting at their usual station (like other customers before us). After a brief debate we ended up leaving without answers, angry and disappointed, unwilling to be further disrespected, let alone pay for (and thus reinforce) such a lousy service (if you can even call it that).
@Media Markt, if you can't handle the volume of clients on a Thursday morning with only two people working the floor, get more staff, set up a clear policy to attend waiting customers, or simply hand out numbers... it's not rocket science guys and it's really frustrating for everyone involved. Seems idiotic I even have to spell this out to a well established business, but here I am. By the way, those 6.500€ in air conditioning went to Leroy Merlín next door, who had a clerk sit down with us and take their time explaining every single one of our questions.
Unfortunately, my experience with Media Markt recently just keeps getting worse and worse, and it's not just this location but rather a general symptom of all Media Markt Stores here in Spain (well, to be fair, Madrid specifically). I'm a bit sad to say "goodbye" once and for all, but it's just not worth-it anymore getting disappointed almost every time I set foot into one of your stores.
Every Euro spent is a vote, and you won't get mine no more. Don't rest on your name and on the glory of your past, and don't take your customers for granted, lest you see them defer more and more to your competition.
How was your motto again? "I'm not stupid!" ... Well, maybe I really was that naive to keep coming back to you so many times, taking me so long to realize I was simply being stupid.

Read moreI had the air conditioning technician visiting yesterday that defined the volume and characteristics required for the house. Then told me to pass by the shop to finalize payment and contract. When I arrive I ask where I should be attended and I am requested to take a ticket just to answer a question. 15 minutes later I am attended and I am told to go inside. The person then tells me that the employee that attends me is not here and nobody can access his email so I should come back following day… I ask for the manager, manager not present, his deputy neither as it is Friday August 15 and supposed holiday (the store is open !!!!). Then a bunch of liars came to invent stories to justify that nobody will be able to attend and proceed with installation process until following day. Blunt incompetence of MediaMarkt is unbelievable…...
Read moreEstoy muy disgustada con el trato que se me ha dado en Media Martkt, no en concreto en esta tienda, si con dos temas concretos de la empresa Media Markt en general: 1º trate de dar de baja o al menos buscar donde dar de baja la tarjeta de Media Markt y es el secreto mejor guardado, porque sigo sin saber como hacerlo. 2º lugar, en el black friday compre un teléfono móvil para regalarle a mi padre en reyes, muy bien muy estupendo, 200€ que me ahorro, el móvil viene con protector de pantalla puesto de fabrica y además compro una funda para el teléfono. En reyes le regalo el móvil a mi padre y a finales de febrero tengo que ir a Media Markt, porque repetidas veces a mi padre se le ha apagado el móvil sin ninguna razón y con batería y la ultima vez ya no ha vuelto a encender, así que me dirijo al servicio técnico porque claramente el móvil esta en garantía, la chica amablemente me lo recoge, prueba que no sea un problema de carga y me dice que lo envía al servicio técnico y que sin problema, porque el móvil está intacto y que en unas 2 semanas me avisan, hoy, casi 2 meses después me llaman para decirme que me envían el móvil a casa y pregunto que si ya esta solucionado y me dicen que no, que eso ya me lo tenían que haber dicho, que el presupuesto a sido rechazado por un golpe en la placa base. Y yo pregunto, ¿ese supuesto presupuesto en el que se me dice que el móvil es rechazado y que no esta en garantía por el golpe donde esta? ¿a quien se lo han enviado? y además, ¿como le das un golpe en la placa al móvil, móvil moderno que es imposible de abrir? cuando el móvil exteriormente no tiene ni un arañazo, porque solo ha sido usado 1 mes. Y la solución que me dan a todo esto, es cuando todo el confinamiento termine vaya a la tienda a poner una reclamación, porque es algo muy útil, claro que si guapi. Anda y que se vayan a tomar por culo la panda de estafadores estos, si ya me lo habían dicho, no compres más ahí que te están engañando... Pues toda la razón. Mi consejo, gástate un poco más de dinero en una tienda de telefonía que te aseguren que te van a reparar el teléfono o al menos te informen del estado, porque encima de no saber nada del móvil en casi 2 meses resulta que me lo devuelves por un golpe...
