My review is based on screen 4 so I don't know if this applies to all the other ones. I really don't know why this cinema has so many good reviews, maybe it's because the standard here in Barcelona is extremely low for cinemas. I have to make a list about all the things I hated about it: the room was almost flat, which ruins the experience especially if you are short. I hate seeing people's heads so close to mine in front of me the corridor is in the middle. Like for real? The best part to be seated is in the middle of the room, and it's occupied but the corridor. So both corners of the room are for seating, it doesn't add up. they don't sell drinks in cups. Like... Why? I asked at the bar if they could provide a cup and ice and the lady said no in a rude manner. I just bought a bottle of water... no cupholders on the seats. I know they don't sell cups anyway but you don't have a place to put your drink... in a cinema... it wasn't loud enough, you could hear everyone eating all the time
Some good things: priority on original audio (vose) instead of awful dubs like people like in here great location
Conclusion: whoever planned this cinema has never been to one before, the only worth going is Mooby Balmes, the rest is...
Read moreWe went to watch “The Brutalist” which is an award winning, 3-hour long, brilliant film. Both the projection and surround sound were perfect. Room 4 seats were comfortable but packed together with rows packed so close that one can barely move. There are no side circulation hallways, only the central one. Before the movie started the man who controls access to the projection rooms was needlessly rude because we were 15 minutes early! Then unpleasant when I said I needed to use the bathroom. I had to raise my voice to make a point since my need was urgent. Perhaps he is stressed and overworked? Not my problem as a costumer. The episode was a bit surreal in a supposedly cultural environment. Certainly a turn off to one’s excitement before a movie. Popcorn extremely salty and overpriced. Cines Verdi needs a serious overhaul of signage so people do not need to ask or guess every move inside and, occasionally, stumble upon unpleasant staff. Interactions were tense with fellow moviegoers. Rude attitudes seem to prevail. People no longer know how to behave in a civil manner, not even in a cultural environment. Cines Verdi cannot control its public, obviously, but it can certainly control its staff. Sign...
Read moreA proper overall experience with few downsides that might be important for some people. It seemed like there was a resolution problem during the screening as the image was readjusting itself few time throughout the movie - it annoyed me a bit. As for the cinema itself, the screen was elevated and rows of seats were all on the floor at the same level - personally I am not used to such designs but it did not influence my experience much. Moreover, the cinema was closed for few hours for the lunch break that ended only around 20minutes before the afternoon screenings started. That caused quite a lot of queues and stress for the clients as they were rushing to make it on time for the movie. I find it to be a very bad organisational decision to allow such a late lunch brake. Overall, a fairly standard cinema with few problems. Nothing really stood...
