This is a must-see location in Carthage and is one that is easily overlooked as visitors walk past on their way to/from the station. Here you will see remnants of the original city wall built by the Carthaginians over 2200 years ago. The visit includes a short video in multiple languages that provides some background to the struggle between the Carthaginians and Romans during the successive Punic wars, and a poster exhibit that provides a helpful historical timeline. Read moreI would visit the ancient Punic Wall museum. This was portions of the wall constructed to defend the city from Roman attacks. The museum makes it possible to view the double wall with rooms and ammo storage within the thick wall. You can also see the actual crypt that was uncovered when this section of the wall was uncovered. You can't go down into the crypt at this time as they are still working on architecture dig in this area. This is the only way to view the actual ancient wall and crypt.
