The Palm Park in Elche is okay, but honestly, it's not much to see. The park is pretty small, and you can easily walk through the whole thing in about 20 minutes. While it's nice enough with lots of palm trees, there isn't really anything impressive about it. If you're in the area, it might be worth a quick visit, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. Not bad, just not particularly exciting.

The Palm Park in Elche (El Palmeral de Elche) is a vast park in Spain filled with over 200,000 palm trees, making it one of the largest palm groves in the world. Originally created by the Moors (Muslim inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula) over 1,000 years ago, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park features a network of pathways winding through the palms, providing a cool, shaded environment perfect for strolling. In addition to the palm trees, the park includes fountains, ponds, and small gardens, creating a peaceful atmosphere. There's also a museum that explains the park's history and its significance to the area. The Palm Park is a unique blend of nature and culture and a popular destination for both...

Gorgeous palmtree park. Nice to walk around when it’s really hot outside. Lots of palmtrees and beautiful flowersnto create some shade. Several entrances, one next to the tourist office.

The Palmeral of Elche is the artificial oasis that surrounds the historic town of Elche of Andalusian origin located in the south of the province of Alicante, on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula. It is made up of 67 orchards, containing some 45,000 date palms, covering 144 ha. The landscape of the Palmeral of Elche is a remarkable example of the introduction of a form of agriculture and the acclimatization of an economically profitable species in a new region. The palm grove is a typical component of the North African landscape which was introduced to Europe during the Islamic occupation of a large part of the Iberian Peninsula and which has retained its original form to the present...

The Palmeral of Elche is a delightful destination, especially for a Sunday outing with children. This beautiful garden boasts a well-equipped playground that keeps the little ones entertained for a while. When visiting, it's advisable to don comfortable shoes to explore the vast grounds comfortably.

However, one downside to keep in mind is the presence of numerous mosquitoes. These pesky insects can be quite bothersome and may leave you with itchy bites. So, it's wise to bring some insect repellent to ensure an enjoyable visit. Despite this inconvenience, the Palmeral of Elche remains a lovely spot for a family day out amidst lush greenery and playtime fun. This oasis of greenery spans approximately 200,000 square meters and contains over 200,000 palm trees, making it the largest palm grove in Europe.

You can can explore this cultural and natural gem!...

A lovely park to take some time out to walk around. Would be nice to see the water features going as they were not on our visit. Covid has had its mark and it was sad to see the central restaurant all derelict and neglected. Lovely variety of trees and good to sit and unwind and combine with a shopping trip. If you have young children there's a super play area, fairly new and with some great and different equipment. My 7 year old thoroughly enjoyed himself. Be sure to walk out of the park at the rear entrance where you will find the old fortress, now an architectural museum. Walk across the road and you will find the Cathedral and square and be able to explore the old Quarter of Elx with its shops and many street side restaurants and bars. Obviously very popular of an evening. Thoroughly enjoyable few hours.
