Good afternoon! I would like to pay attention to the unprofessional service. There is a very unpleasant and strange situation: I bought entrance tickets with the child and talking to the security that I leave some things in the storage room, but I can take a backpack (in which the keys, wallet, 2 phones and water for the child), so there are no pockets and everything will not fit in my hands.Already at the entrance, the administrator does not let in with the backpack, I try to explain that the security allowed me and I have nowhere to put these things, we are denied. They refuse to return the tickets, because I did not take the check, after paying by card and with a backpack (which, by the way, according to the parameters specified in the rules passes) we are still refused to pass (taking into account the fact that they are not responsible for the safety of valuables). As a result, only through my principled position, that they would measure my backpack, and show that I can't pass by the rules, was only bothered to return the money, and admin demonstratively tearing the tickets. Very strange, not...

Don't visit this place of you are looking for a history museum with antique weapons or stories of spanish expeditions. Also consider if your kids will appreciate it. This is an amazing modern art museum that is built on the grounds of an old fortification. It is a very interesting piece of architecture where the remains of an old building are carefully exposed and blended with a modern and monumental concrete architecture. It houses a permanent exhibition of sculptures that go very hand in hand with the spaces created in the building. I had a wonderful time exploring this museum and wondering around on the multiple levels and passages, reading stories on the finctional history of the fortress amd exploring useless sculptures and the way how they have been integrated in the vast space. Worthwile visisit if you enjoy contemporary architecture, enjoy the luxury of space and want to experience something...

:) Lovely Park surrounding the Castle and very nice exhibits inside when it is open. 4 of 5 stars as no public washrooms are available outside in the Park area. This whole area of Las Palmas lacks public washrooms and garbage cans that keep garbage in them after a wind gust or scavenger. Well kept plants and flowers. Lovely shade and sunshine areas. Grass kept clean of puppy leftovers unlike other smaller parks in the area. Definitely worth a look for the views and exhibits. Small seating cafe in park near the water fountain feature. Kids park is great for the kids when it is open as well. Parking / driving is a nightmare for this area. Suggest transit or pay parking across at the harbour as the new pedestrian bridge that cross the highway between the Castle park and the harbour is now finished. Could spend a good few hours here if your taking...

Before visiting, I was not convinced. The entrance is only 4 euros. The building and neighbourhood have been restored with a lot of elegance and respect for the historical building. The inside hosts a permanent exhibition that fits totally with the place, with metalic sculptures and light sonor effects. I truly recommend the place. There is a locker to store your bagpack before entering the site (1 euro to insert).

A nice place to spend half an hour. The fortress is both a historical museum and an art museum of a famous local sculptor, Martin Chirino. The entrance, as for all museums in Las Palmas, is affordable (even free for students under 25). The preservation of the fortress is good, but the restoration choices are a bit weird, like covering large portions of the fortress walls with white paint.

It is 2 in 1: the restored original fort being an art gallery of works by a nationally famous local artist. Explanations of the fort's history and building confused me. For instance, the turrets would allow defenders to shoot along the walls, but there were no slits to fire through!
