On 10.11.23 we visited science museum, we particularly brought our two year old to see rocket as she is absolutely obsessed with them. We came 19:05, which was last hour before closing and as we were short of time we spent time by rocket which is positioned next to police exhibition, the staff was friendly and museum looked clean and tidy and entertaining for different age groups of visitors. But what made us mark down our experience is gentleman who had his police collection on the stand. He accused me of stealing police badge when in reality it fall of the wall and I politely put it back so it does not get dirty, he kept raising his voice and shouting that he saw me stealing, it really put our family mood down and frustrated us a lot. When we suggested to check cctv he said he does not need cameras because he saw with his eyes that I put item in the pocket which was false accusation. It was rediculous as they clearly were trying to get familiar with police history with this exhibition. Which makes us wonder, since he was policeman or worked in partnership with police, how many false accusations are made and people get in trouble innocent on this island ? It puts shade on good policeman and shame on this man who straight away started with pressure methods. All in all, I feel that the lesson of this visit to museum, if you see any thing falling off just leave...
Read moreA missed opportunity
Our experience in the museum was quite mixed. It felt messy, with poor storytelling and lack of scientific explanations.
There were some exhibitions more fit for a shopping mall than for a science museum, like Saint Seiya (anime), lego and Star Wars, taking plenty of space.
Some of the Cosmos panels were right next to a display that contains human bones, theoretically used to explain child birth, but there was no description or lesson learned other than what you can figure out on your own. Next to it, some ancient x-ray machine but again little to no explanation.
The green screen area is old and dirty and the screen where you're supposed to see yourself wasn't even working.
On the last floor, where some naval history is displayed, panels are only in Spanish and they ask you to take out your phone and use Google translate, which is a bit ridiculous.
There are some rooms that are meant to represent weird planet possibilities, more worth of an Art Museum than a Science one, including a ball pool.
Overall it felt like a missed opportunity to make things nice, even with the same content they have now. Organising things in a better order, telling a better story, and making sure there's always Science behind what's...
Read moreFour years ago this museum was a five star rating for us but on our visit in August 2022 there was only disappointment. This used to be a wonderful museum with interactive learning possibilities and experiences and you could easily spend all day there without ever getting bored and wanting more time there. At present the majority of things are only to look at, space wasted and few interactive experiments. Many items were broken or didn't work properly and in comparison with four years ago very few. Explanations and instructions missing and very little to stimulate young minds. A cafeteria now in the process of being built in the museum will also take up much needed space where science and technology should be the priority. Considering Infront of the museum are cafeterias and restaurants it seems a bad choice for both the museum and the plaza, and a complete waste of money for the museum. Even the staff seemed bored and unmotivated and I'm not surprised. Such a shame. I hope that in future the museum makes better choices and investments because this museum used to be an absolute gem but is now just a...
