We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, and it was a horrible experience. We booked a Deluxe Superior Room with a Seaview, but it turned out that our room overlooked a construction site, a motorway, a tunnel, and an industrial harbor. To make things worse, the window was unbelievably dirty (see the photos and videos), and we could hear the cars passing by on the motorway at high speed all the time, even with the window closed (as it was not soundproof at all). All these made sleeping (or even staying in the hotel) unbearable. When I spoke to the manager about it, he said they knew that the windows were dirty, but they couldn't do anything about it (one of the receptionists said they clean them only every couple of months). When I pointed out that it is not really fair for a 4-star hotel to sell the Superior Deluxe Rooms with a Seaview and offer a loud room with no view whatsoever, he said that he could offer us a complimentary cocktail at a bar (!). When we said that we would rather give an honest review and warn others, he came back to us after a couple of hours and offered us a 15% discount but... only if we signed a formal disclaimer not to write a negative review or post pictures/videos of the room! We think it is a really strange policy and wonder how many people before us were also "bribed" in a similar way so that the hotel could have suprisingly positive reviews for what it offers. Of course, we did not accept this weird offer and decided to share our opinion...
Read moreLovely staff, hotel and rooms, nothing was too much trouble right from check in when reception were struggling to get 2 rooms together as our friend was recently widowed so didn’t want to be far from us, they managed to sort it out for us||The room was clean, comfy bed, great bathroom with shampoo, hand soap, body lotion, shower gel and conditioner. Nice coffee machine too. Really modern touchpad system to denote ‘do not disturb’ or ‘make up room’ and a doorbell||Breakfast choices were great with lots of options for all tastes and helpful waitresses ||The rooftop bar was great for chilling day or night with sun loungers, large comfy settees and heaters on in the evening ||Near bus stops, main shopping centre and las Canteras Beach plus loads of great restaurants ||Whilst we were there we went on the hop on hop off bus around the city which I would definitely recommend, a local bus to the cathedral, visited the beach day and night, the area has a great vibe, the light sphere at the end of the promenade is amazing as are the sand sculptures ||The only downside whilst we were there although out of the hotel’s’ jurisdiction was as it was Christmas time, there was a fair outside the hotel at Saint Catalina Park which was quite loud and a Christmas Market with a stage where there were sometimes live music events on that were loud and went on until midnight but it was bearable and definitely wouldn’t put us off visiting the hotel again as it...
Read moreMe and my mother stayed at Hotel Lumm the last week in room 513. We have stayed at many hotels close by such as The Concorde, Reina Isabelle, TC Hotel Doña Luisa and many others.
The room was very comfortable and clean with everything you need (hair dryer, plenty of mirrors, plug sockets, hangers, shower creams/gel, TV and even two sinks!!)
The rooftop is lovely and clean with a small pool and bar but could probably use a few more sun beds and less chairs/tables. The bar staff seem to come and go so you might have to wait around a little while for a drink.
The gym is very basic and dumbbells only go up to 14kg so for some more frequent gym users you might need to just up the reps, but enough facilities to do a full basic workout and cardio (includes a rowing and running machine and a pool upstairs to do some lengths).
The main reason for 4 stars is the staff, especially the lady at reception (think her name was Elena?) and the cleaners who every morning was so friendly as well as the rest of the staff who would go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. (One man on reception could probably do with a bit more customer service training but not everything can be perfect!)
Food was nice but it’s a shame they didn’t have baked beans with their full English breakfast buffet and a few more options.
Overall I will say this is one of the better hotels around the area, Reina Isabelle trumping that but the prices are much...
