Destino Café Specialty coffee — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Staff are pleasant, as so is the general ambience. I asked for very very hot coffee, and repeated it as boiling hot later, bacause I know how it is here on this island, but yet, it came lukewarm. I had to have it reheated, which isn't a good thing to do.

The cheesecake passed my test, but I still prefer La Cafetera's. The Nutella cheesecake looks an absolute killer - perhaps I'll try it one day!

I went twice. Both the espresso and french press were great. In contrast to other coffees in the city, they also have lightly roasted and more fruity beans. And the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Update 2024: They have two different coffees on the mill every day. One more standard, one more special. I had natural/experimental coffee from El Salvador and our was skillfully prepared, so that the taste of the coffee was really present...

Excellent coffee! My measure of a good coffee is one where I don't need to add sugar because it's not so bitter - this happens when the beans are overly roasted. Food was nice too, though don't expect buttery, flaky croissants like you get in France. The Spanish croissants are more bread-like. Service was quick and very friendly. The lady was super kind despite my limited Spanish, but she indulged me and didn't automatically switch...
