Parque Romano — Attraction in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

:) Our Fittnes minded guests especially love the free and open air access outdoor weights & gym equipment area. Parque Romano is a well kept outdoor urban park. Accessible space as well for handicapped and elderly. 1 star is lost as Missing are access to open, free & clean, monitored public washrooms & access to free clean public drinking water fountains. Area is well shaded from the sun in most areas as well. Definitely worth a look for the fittness minded. Free access Outdoor climbing / bouldering wall is available here as well. Like all parks in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria this park is well maintained just sadly missing the human basics of public washrooms and public drinking fountains. Another star lost as current as of Sept 2023 a number of rough sleepers and there stuff is being stored in various spots around the park. Smells and paraphernalia waft in air and area grass. Graffiti very prevalent. Old washroom complex has been torn down. This is a great park fo running on a 1k round track. There are markings every 100 meters for timing your workout, the first 100 meters are even devided into 25 meter sections and you can do shorter laps whenever you feel like it. You can run safely away from dogs, since they have their own seperate area. Unfortunately the fitness equipment was closed when I was there, I hope this is not a permanent situation. The park is so great with all the opportunities for working out. Wall climbing, outdoor gym, running track, place for other activities. And many people are here, there are even group workouts hold here. We liked it a lot! The running track is 1000ms and there is fast and slow lane. And the all place is very well...
