Pier 19 — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Updating my review after my second [attempted] visit. On my own this time (table for 1). Was going to be seated at a corner table then a staff member said no, and placed a reserved sign on said table and gestured at a row of decidely undesireable tables; I opted to sit inside instead. Inside, every table was empty, and no reserved signs anywhere. After choosing a table and sitting down, I was asked to move to a different table (in the entirely empty and unreserved interior)!

At this point I frankly felt unwanted and bullied.

I left, and am updating my earlier review based on an aggregate experience of both visits.

First restaurant we visited in Las Palmas and we had no regrets. As we visited in October, it wasn't busy so we were spoilt for choice on where to sit. We sat outside with views of the bay. And the food was amazing!!!! Didn't wait too long.. from starters to the main course and a glass of Moscato each. There was so much flavour. I wanted my tagliatelle with veal spicy and the chef did just that. They were also prompt with bringing the bill etc. We were too full to have dessert.Totally loved it here! And I'm certain we will visit again before leaving Las Palmas. Customer service...

Fuimos a almorzar entre semana con un amigo que nos lo recomendó y la verdad es que nos gustó mucho. Nos ofrecieron mesa en la terraza y si el día está bueno, se disfruta la vista del muelle deportivo. Por dentro lo vimos desde fuera y es muy bonito, con una decoración sobria pero elegante. Fuimos atendidos por una chica y un chico y el servicio fue muy agradable, atento y profesional. 11 de 10. La comida estuvo exquisita, con una materia prima de calidad que bien valía su precio y un emplatado impecable. Probamos como entrante las croquetas, de cecina y de cherne, estupendas ambas y de plato principal, yo me pedí un lomo alto que estaba muy jugoso, riquísimo y mi marido y nuestro amigo pidieron un tomahawk que nos ofrecieron fuera de carta. El precio del tomahawk fue alto (91€ por una pieza de 1'4kg.) pero el error fue nuestro por no preguntar antes el precio del kilo, simplemente, y decidir en base a ello. Eso sí, su color (se dispuso crudo, cortado y separado del hueso acompañado de una plancha de mesa para que cada comensal le diese el punto deseado, al ser un corte a compartir para dos personas y de guarnición, verduras asadas y papas fritas en bandeja separada para servir al gusto.), su sabor, textura y jugosidad hizo que valiera la pena, sin dudarlo. Los hemos comido a menor precio, pero siendo muy honestos, este corte ganaba de calle... El postre merece mención aparte y hasta recordé hacerle foto, que no suelo acordarme del teléfono cuando como... Pedimos una Armonía de Mango y estaba ESPECTACULAR. En serio, un postre que nos resultó un regalo al paladar. En conclusión, un restaurante con buena ubicación, un servicio muy atento y una comida espectacular. Sin duda, repetiremos para...
