Barceló Ourense — Attraction in Ourense

We were only in Ourense for the one night and were in a duplex room. On first sight the room was very lavish and top class. Enormous bed, very modern shower room and toilet facilities, even an upstairs jacuzzi. (1) The jacuzzi is so large and the waterflow into it so moderate it would have taken hours to fill. (2) The sink is designed with the tap overhanging it…. try splashing your face in preparation for shaving. (3) There’s nowhere to hang wet towels after a shower, unless you count the wardrobe, which you can if you’re only staying one night. (4) Who designed the plumbing? Every flush in upstairs apartments seems to cascade down pipes just the other side of the wall. It was like sleeping near Niagara.|OK, that’s all the beefs….. staff were friendly and efficient. As I said we were only there as a bed for the night. I just wish whoever designs these rooms actually tries...

On the day we arrived there was a car rally taking place which created difficulties driving to the hotel. Not their fault, but it would not have been difficult to email all guests arriving then to inform them of this, and of the best way to access the hotel. Disappointed that this was not done.|Room, a superior, was a decent size, good sized comfortable bed, and considering it’s location reasonably quiet.|One thing we did not like was the clear glass partition between the washing facilities and the bedroom. My wife and I have been married almost 50 years, and there are still things we would rather do in private. What idiot thought that a good Idea I do not know. At t|Least the bathroom and toilet had opaque glass partitions and doors.|Good central location.|Did not eat...

This was our favourite hotel on a nine day trip around Galicia. The whole experience from Melissa at reception, to the fabulous room, which was beautifully decorated, had a huge bathroom and bedroom. Every little detail has been thought out and the bed was big and comfortable. There is a safe and a fridge and the aircon works. A huge TV and the choice of English speaking channels. The aircon was great and the shower was big and lots of hot water. The rooms were spotless. The hotel was very quiet and is situated right in the city centre.
