We visited Poble Espanyol in Palma de Mallorca and found it a fascinating way to explore Spain without leaving the island. It’s an open-air architectural museum that recreates famous buildings and streets from across the country—Andalusian courtyards, Castilian squares, even a little slice of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. Walking through felt like stepping between regions in minutes.
It’s not huge, so you can see everything in about an hour, but the detail in the buildings is impressive. I loved wandering the narrow streets, peeking into little courtyards, and taking photos of the colourful façades. There are also artisan workshops and small shops selling ceramics, leather goods, and local crafts, which gave it a more authentic feel.
It was fairly quiet when I visited, which made it relaxing, but it also meant some workshops and cafés were closed. The entry fee isn’t too high, and it’s easy to reach by bus or a short taxi ride from Palma’s centre.
While it’s not a full-day activity, it’s a lovely spot for a slow stroll, a bit of history, and some great photo opportunities. I’d recommend it if you enjoy architecture, Spanish culture, or just want a peaceful break from Palma’s...
Read moreVery beautiful! I would put this place in the top visits to do in Palma. Architectural masterpieces of Spain in one place, constructed as an ancient medieval village from 1965 to 1968, surrounded by its wall. I was honestly impressed by this place. Adult entrance with one drink included: 10€ Children with one drink included: 5€. Parking places next to the Pueblo Español. The sightseeing red bus does a stop here as well. Easy to get here by public transport with the bus 47 or 46 or 29. There is a Christmas Market here from the 2 December to the 11 every year. The only thing I found ashame is there was no café inside, I went the 29 December though. The inside of the buildings were being refurbished, and some others clearly needed to be redone for the inside parts only. Walking around the village is...
